The current Vikings with AP remind me a lot of the Lions with Barry Sanders. They're pretty much on pace to waste his whole career with shitty QBs and the occasional 1st round exit in the playoffs in the years when the all-world RB can carry them enough to get there. Most years, they won't.

Now, on to the Chiefs! (anyone?)

not hearing much out of the new coaching staff on if they are leaning towards a trade, a draft, or both of a QB. I gotta believe they won't waste the 1st overall pick on a QB this year. However McShay's mock drafts have that DT from Utah as the 1st pick to the Chiefs. KC will fucking riot and burn down arrowhead if we see another D-lineman taken with a high 1st round draft pick. Glenn Dorsey(5th overall) and Tyson Jackson(3rd overall) aren't setting the world on fire. KC should have a top-5 defense with as many high picks as we've had on D in recent years(Eric Berry was also 5th overall I believe)

Almost have to hope they draft OT Joekel 1st overall(Our line needs some work, LT Brandon Albert is a free agent and wanting top-5 LT money, and he's not a top-5 LT). If nothing else, KC has proven that mediocre QBs(Trent Green) and castoff running backs(Priest Holmes) can look like all pros when playing behind a line full of future hall of famers (Will Shields, Willie Roaf)

My plan for the Chiefs
Trade for a veteran QB(offer something like a 2nd round pick, or 3rd and 4th for Alex Smith)
Draft Joekel and be set for a decade at LT
Draft a "project" QB somewhere in rounds 2-4, and maybe even bring in a young-ish backup QB that hasn't played much in the NFL yet that you can get for cheap(Chase Daniel)

The Chiefs need 3 QBs for next year, they have some work to do.

Chiefs should trade their first overall to the 49ers for Alex Smith. It's only fair because that's when he was drafted. Well maybe the first overall and a third or fourth rounder since he has some playoff experience now.

So how does this draft class look? I'll admit to not having paid much attention outside of the theory that Dallas is in line to draft DL or OL (please be OL) in the first round. Outside of that, I'm fairly out of touch with what's up this offseason.

Kaeperbro can not be injured.
Way to go...

Anyhow, after listening to the press-conference of Harbaugh on exit day, it sounds like he wants to keep Alex as a backup, lol. There's no way in fuck 49er ownership is going to do that, but I still thought his response was funny when he was asked if Alex should be granted his release in a "contract year".

Cutler is such a romantic.http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story...t-engaged-text

"It was so silly. I was in the airport, leaving Chicago. We had just spent however many days together and we were texting and somehow it came up, like, 'Oh, shall we get married?' We're like, 'Yeah, OK,'" Cavallari said recently, according to E-online.com. "And then he sent my ring in the mail. So I actually had my ring sitting at home for a couple of weeks before I put it on."

It seems like Boldin is worried he is going to get cut by the Ravens. He didn't have a very good season, but since the Offense change he has been fantastic. I think it would be stupid to cut him, but they need money room for Flacco.

We won't really know until the combine but this draft looks very heavy OL and DL. Qb is the weakest it has been in a while on paper because there are no sure things but there are a few that are interesting. There are no stud all round WR or RB prospects. There a few really interesting WRs though like Tavon and Patterson. Patterson has the best skill set, probably elite status but there is only one year on him. It is a pretty strong safety year.

It is a great year to be looking for OL and DL players.

I think someone in the league would see what Boldin did in the playoffs and understand how to use him. He's a big physical receiver who runs great routes and has great hands, I don't know why he was so left out of the offense in Baltimore this year, but I'm guessing it was scheme, since it seemed like you guys just fell in love with the deep ball (as did the Giants to much less success, admittedly).

But I'm no Bmore fan so what the fuck would I know.

I am not a Ravens fan, that said he played great the last 5 games and deserves his spot in my opinion.

I concur with this assessment 100%. I'm pretty excited about the new GM and Head Coach, I'd love to see the Chiefs be the Chiefs again. Well.. the 'good' Chiefs again.

Define good chiefs. You mean the chiefs that lost the first super bowl 35-10?
