Dolphins need to play hardball with the Chiefs on this potential Albert trade. 9m per, and they want our first second rounder, and on top of that short of the Chiefs trading out of the first pick tonight they will land another LT. Don't be stupid Ireland for once in your life.

Mayock's mock draft is out. Has the Cowboys taking that DT out of Utah. I would be very happy with that outcome.

Seems like everyone is looking to move down, might mean someone could move up a few spots for cheap with just their first rounder + a 4th.

Hopefully Jerry does this and makes sure they get one of those two guards.

Let me rant a second about Steeler message boards and this draft....

I'm fucking sick to death of hearing retarded Steeler fans comparing Jarvis Jones having a bad day with Terrell Suggs having a bad pro day as some way to justify making this shitty pick since that seems to be all the noise.

Jones was supposed to fucking dominate, its a huge difference being 23 years old vs kids who are 18-20 mostly. Suggs had 24 sacks as a TWENTY year old vs Jones with 14.5 sacks as a twenty three year old. He will be 24 near the start of the season. Jones would have to dominate from day 1 in Pittsburgh, and we all know that wont happen. Even Polamalu didnt play as a rookie for the Steelers because apparently Lebeau's schemes for football players is like doing quantum physics.

If we pick Jones at 17 I will make the drive up to Latrobe and throw sharp objects at Kevin Colbert.

edit: Thats also me forgetting the spinal stenosis medical red flags.

Had no idea that Jones was that old. Way to much risk as it was with the injuries. They really should look at Ertz. They have some question marks there with Miller coming off a bad injury.

Of course, I'm interested to see how this pans out. I'd love to see them get the high 2nd rounder, but ideally I'd like Albert to stay and not be a pussy about playing right tackle. Or put the new kid in at right tackle.

Seriously, what's the stigma between left/right tackle? I know the left tackle (used to be left guard back in the day) is the pulling tackle and needs to be quicker and more nimble. But does playing at right tackle really devalue a player in the eyes of coaches/owners?

Edit: Post 69 is divine.

Yeah Albert is bitching because he's on a 1 year deal, and if he goes to right tackle he's afraid he wont get his big, long term pay day, which is stupid because teams know he's more than capable at LT.

Left tackle is usually going up against the defense's best pass rushers, so the premier LT's are more valuable than anyone else on the line.

Again hearing the Cleveland Steamers are interested in Mallet... I'd give him and the pats 1st round pick for every non-first round pick they have this year and next.

How generous of you to trade a 3rd rd. qb and 1st rd pick for like 16 picks of the Browns. I think they should totally go for it!

Well that is sort of similar to what the Saints finagled for Ricky Williams' pick.

With those picks Washington received:

.Champ Bailey
.Derek Smith
.LaVar Arrington
.Lloyd Harrison

If they're dumb enough to trade anything for Mallet, then they shall lie in the bed they've made

edit: also this is for Daezuel, Sutekh, and Jozu:

Not a fan of this Thursday night draft. Have tickets to the ballgame tonight and I'm going to miss the first round action. What a problem to have. Being a sports fan is rough.

I agree with this, but it seems like it would (defensively) easy to bypass this strategy.

So, sports fans, is it gonna be .... nevermind, just found the following:

Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Texas A&M offensive tackle Luke Joeckel has been informed that the Chiefs plan to use the first pick in the draft on Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher.
