The thing about both the Niners and Hawks "read-option" QB's is that really neither of them actually run it that much. The only time the QB's are actually keeping the ball is when it is WIDE open, otherwise, it really is just a decoy to force a defensive player to stay with the QB and not go after the RB.

Everyone is just assuming that Kaep is now a running QB after the Green Bay game. But 2008 Tom Brady could have run the read-option successfully against that Green Bay defense. Kaepernick and Wilson just aren't taking hits running the read-option like RG3 is. They rarely keep the ball and when they do it is because there isn't a defender in the area that could possibly touch them.

I don't see the injury risk on Kaep or Wilson being much higher than that of a QB who likes to scramble such as Aaron Rodgers.

Im sure the 2008 version was a little faster than the 2013 version at least! Didnt Brady run the slowest 40 time in NFL history? He ran like a 5.20 40 or some shit lol. That play where he couldnt run for the first down against fat Ngata was kind of saddening for Pats fans. Brady is cool at QB sneaks, but for god sakes that guy is slower than a fucking o-lineman.

edit: And I meant lol as in I laughed because it was actually funny, not because it was preposterous. I agree with the sentiment, and you couldnt have used a more contrasting example than Tom lol.

Mallett is so slow they didn't run him at the combine. His pro day forty was a 5.37. NE loves there slow qbs.

Marino ran a 4.89 at combine. HandiDan had to be slower than Brady.. right?

2 years ago you they gave up a 1st and 2nd. Now they swap a 7th round pick for a 6th (and it's the lower of their 6th picks), and a conditional 7th if he starts 13 games.

Yeah, I'm not sure how good Asomugha is anymore, but for that kind of salary, why the fuck not? I like the deal.

The 49ers have done great this offseason. With exception of Dahl, they have grabbd impact guys at multiple positions and the draft hasnt even started. With 13 picks left i see Baalke bundling something and moving up to grab a safety. That or a NT.

If Dorsey can actually realize his potential and Nmandi is continually put in man to man situations with help over the top he will be serviceable. Boldin will continue to beast smaller faggots and make big plays and they already have Crab. If the Niners lose more than 3 games this year that will be a disappointment.

Can't blame them. They're a Super Bowl team who have gotten arguably better.

Nnamdi got abused by the Giants and Eli every game they played, but I don't know how much of that is scheme or if he just sucks after leaving the Raiders. Signing him to a $1.35m contract with no guaranteed sounds like he wants to prove himself, which is always a good sign lol.
