Freeman is low risk high reward for the Vikings. He's young enough where if his shit play this year turns around to old form then they just solved their long term QB problems for a drop in the bucket.

That may be the case but Cassel is 30 and Freeman is younger then Wilson and Kaepernick. The Vikes had cap room to spare and they finally realized that Ponder wasn't right for them so why not drop a 3rd string QB and give it a shot on a young former first rounder. Hell AP isn't getting any younger.

What he needs back are his receivers. Any defense that can cover Boldin and Davis can totally stop the SF passing game right now, and Davis still isn't 100%. Once Manningham and Crabtree are back defenses are going to weep. Until then, the schedule is pretty soft for a while and the running game has been good enough to carry them. I'm not worried about Kaepernick.

At this point it doesn't matter how good Rivers is when he can't get any support from the team. As of last week he had I think the second best QB ranking behind Manning.
