Mostly worried about Ham because he didnt replace his players on bye in the 2 leagues that we're both in and he and we were matched up in both of them! You should never be that guy.

How does it work out that Freeman gets a contract from the Vikingsandgets paid his remaining contract by the Bucs? I was under the impression that if you release a player mid season and he gets picked up by another team that the new team picks up the remaining contract (effectively letting the releasing team off the hook). Am I completely wrong in my understanding, or was this a special case?

I was given a $90 Mendenhall in one of those leagues, so I wasn't bothering. The other, half my team was on bye, there was nothing I could do for that V, but I legitimately forgot that one

I'm far from a Romo fan but I'm getting pretty annoyed with Dallas fans on my Facebook and other places bagging on Romo for their loss yesterday.

Only Dallas fans can have their QB go for over 500 yards and 4 TDs and still blame him for the loss.

Here's my basic rule of thumb regarding the NFL.

If the offense scores more than 24 points and loses, its the defenses fault.

If the defense holds the other team to under 24 points and loses, its the offenses fault.

YMMV

Side Note.. At this rate, could it be possible for a team to get Clowney in the 3rd round? His stock is plummeting.

What he needs back are his receivers. Any defense that can cover Boldin and Davis can totally stop the SF passing game right now, and Davis still isn't 100%. Once Manningham and Crabtree are back defenses are going to weep. Until then, the schedule is pretty soft for a while and the running game has been good enough to carry them. I'm not worried about Kaepernick.
I think many of us 49er fans are hoping that this is true. The schedule is indeed pretty soft for their next 4 games, and a bye week in there. They should have Manningham back by that time, but I believe Crabtree is still another 2 months out. Even if he is able to come back at that time, it will take a while for him to get back into full effect again I would imagine.

Really looking at their schedule the only scary games they have left is New Orleans, Seattle, and maybe Atlanta if they manage to turn it around. Maybe come playoff time they can have a full healthy squad again.

I believe offset language is something that can be negotiated (the rookie holdouts recently were based around this sticking point, though it smells like agents just trying to justify their existence with the new rookie pay scale), but in Freeman's case, when the Bucs released him, they ate all of his current contract.

(Which, again, makes it bizarre if the Bucs were the ones behind the rumors on Freeman - they ended up eating his contract and not getting any draft picks because of those rumors.)

The good news is that they were back to power football last night and it worked great. I think maybe after the Packer's game they got the idea that they were a high flying football team and Seattle brought that back to reality. They were able to impose their will on a very good Texans defense with the running game and vs. a lesser defense that would have opened things up more for the passing game. As it was, it wasn't flashy but it was very effective on a couple of drives.

He probably had a signing bonus. If you cut a player, the signing bonus is paid immediately instead of being spread out over the contract

The game was kind of a summary of Romo's career to this point, no? Played great, good stats, did everything right....until a clutch moment when he throws a game losing interception.
Only to dumb people. He doesn't throw late game losing interceptions very often. He gets shit for being a choker because once a year he'll throw a late INT and everyone loses their minds

The real reason its a summary of hours career is that he single handedly prevented them from being completely blown out, but takes all the blame because he was only 99.9% perfect instead of 100%

I blame the coach more then anything.

Like I said earlier, the percentage of Romos picks after a sack are fucking HUGE.

Yet the Red headed jesus gives him the option to pass every fucking time.

Majority of Romos picks are the play after he gets sacked, so Im amazed the red headed dumbass doesn't know that by now, and not give him an option play to fuck up on.
Yeah because it usually means right after Romo will have to take a chance on a longer or more difficult throw on 3rd down to get the first down. The sequence that drive was a holding penalty called on a 39 yard kick return that backed them up to the 10, then a holding penalty, then a sack. Romo has to make a difficult play or they punt.

Let's be honest - if Romo doesn't take that chance to Escobar that got picked, they have to punt and then Manning just scores and wins anyways.

Both of these defenses were horrid. Cowboy's D-Line is so shredded by nagging injuries to Hatcher and Ware - and Ratliff/Spencer are out for the season, they generated zero pressure on Manning. The LBs and DBs actually didn't play that bad in context.

On the flip side - you see what Romo can do with a half decent O-line (which he actually has now with Frederick and Waters) and with weapons like Dez and Witten.

I am getting worried about Kaepernick. I understand and agree with the fact that his current receiver corps isn't doing him any favors. Look at how much Tom Brady is struggling w/o any reliable pass-catching options. But can you imagine what Brady would be doing if he had at the very least Boldin and Davis? Now Brady is one of the all-time greats, but Kaep is suppose to be the new generation of the greats, and outside of the Green Bay game he has been a shell of what he did last year. Niners rank 29th in passing offense right now. Jacksonville has more passing yards than the Niners. The pass game is going to struggle till they get healthier at WR, but I think it is struggling way more than it should be and I'm putting that on Kaep.

I'm also still worried about the Niners as a whole. I feel like the scoreboard does not tell the story of the last two games either. Their D can't get off the field on 3rd downs and turnovers have been saving their bacon the last 2 weeks. Their schedule is going to give them a chance to get healthier, but they are not looking like a Superbowl contender right now.

I'm so tired of this shit. The whole RG3, Wilson, and Kaepernick being this next generation of great QB's. Based on what, exactly? They all played decent for half a season. I'm sorry, but that's just not going to cut it. Freeman played out of his mind for just as much as those 3 and look at him now.

RG3 I think was the most talented of them, but with his knee injury I just don't see him being the same. On top of that his supporting cast is historically bad.

Wilson is surrounded by perhaps the most talent in the entire league. No shit he looks good. The problem is, he doesn't look great with all that talent around him. As soon as some of those players start to leave, he's going to crash and burn.

Kaepernick is similar to Wilson with the talent, and we know this because Alex Smith was able to take them to an NFC Championship game (and yes, I know he's 5-0 in KC, but he's got Andy Reid the QB-whisperer coaching him now). Kaep gets credit for a Super Bowl, but he only played half the season.

I'm fucking tired of all three of these asshats. Luck is the only one of that group that deserves the praise they're all getting. And oddly enough, he's the one that gets talked about the least.
