It's not called every single time just like all penalties, but you're only allowed to assist a runner by blocking for him.
Still you'd think it would be spotted more when a TD is made from the 1, since all TD's are being reviewed, no?

Except that you cant review or challenge a penalty call (or lack thereof). If a penalty flag isn't thrown immediately, it cant be added after a review, no matter how blatant a missed call or how incorrect a made one.

Over the last 10 years a team with a first round bye won the superbowl half the time. 100% of the time at least 1 team in the Superbowl had a first round bye. Figuring there's 12 teams in the playoffs and only 1/3 get a bye, I'd say that's pretty good.

It's no guarantee by any means, but I don't see how you can say it's "cursed".
Fair enough, I thought I saw some stats in the preseason that made it sound much worse but it was probably skewed by being the percentage of teams with a first round bye who were one and done or eliminated at all. Not sure. Still 50% is pretty much chance.

Wasn't that guy a Rams fan (lol) when the season started? Get used to him and all the other bandwagon pussies to jump ship when the Chiefs start playing good teams.

I also love the notion that getting a bye week is somehow a bad thing and it's better to go 9-7 and have to win a wild card game than go 13-3 and not have to worry about it.
You must be new around these parts.

That's awesome. Glad a GIF was made of that tackle. Best kicker tackle I've ever seen.

That is awesome, he didn't even know what to do, just went head and shoulder into the guys helmet to try and knock him out.

Clearly roid-rage

What do you think it's like for Luck to underthrow that ball and then know Wayne tore his knee completely apart because he was coming back for the ball?

The guy has 60 pounds on the Bronco and went helmet first. Yeah it was a hard as tackle but it should have been. He is lucky he didn't get a fine with the way things have been going.

I'm sure he realized as soon as he threw it that it was a blown throw. I'm sure Luck is torn up about the whole thing.

It's a weird feeling. During tackling drills in high school (I played linebacker), I tackled one of our linemen, rolled off, and got up like normal. Only during the roll, I heard a crack...the guy's leg broke. Did everything like I'd done 1,000 times before, it's just one of those freak things. I felt horrible about it, but...it comes with playing the game. Wayne has made that cut 100s of times in games and 1000s of times in practice. I'm sure Luck feels horrible...but they were two football players trying to make a play. It could have happened if he had thrown a perfect ball...can't beat yourself up over it.

So how much do you think the Colts kicker gets fined for that helmet to helmet collision? Obviously led with his helmet right in to the other dudes.

It actually looked like he concussed the runner, after the play the dude was wandering around looking blankly at things. Wouldn't be surprised if it were a minor one, but he's trying to be quiet. I for sure would not want to be the known as the dude that got a concussion from the kicker.

Until he tries to bait a defensive player for a late hit and he decides fuck it and ends RGKnee's career.
He does need to be careful as the only guy ever to do this, if he doesn't cut that shit out, that missed starts ticker is going to go higher than 1 eventually.

He lead with his shoulder, actually. That angle doesn't show it.

Also, Pat McAfee has like 10 tackles in his career. When we were 2-14 he was a tackling machine.

You can see he's leading with his right shoulder, but he's so scrawny (He's 170lbs) that his helmet looks almost oversized and hits before his shoulder pads. Still, McAfee is the man.

The first part of his body to make contact with the running is his helmet, and it makes contact with the runners helmet. No, that wasn't even close to leading with his right shoulder, you're delusional.

And so begins Eli's come back. Look forward to the Giants making the playoffs this year.
