We're getting into the middle of preseason and camp, so what has been your biggest surprise for the team you follow? For me it's been a relative lack of anything noteworthy off the field. There's usually something to take away from what's going on in Camp but this year it's been quiet.
I'm getting pretty tired of the RG3 overexposure.

Worry not, in 2-3 years (if you are lucky) you won't have this problem. Though they might not shut up about what could have been had they not traded away all those picks for him and still drafted Cousins.

The only thing that surprises me this year is the seemingly universal expectation of the Bengals to win the AFC North.

And smart decisions by the front office. This has now happened for three straight seasons. Next year we find out if Mike Brown still is the cheap ass he's always been with Green, Dalton and Atkins all going into FA. The Bengals are working on a contract extension for Atkins right now. That would be fantastic if we could lock him up for years to come.

Holy shit all 3 of them are FA's next year???? If that is the case I would be more worried about becoming Detroit where something like half your cap is tied up in 3 players.

Going to say the talent we have at WR in from udfa and in later rounds. Justin Brown and JD Woods both look like they're keepers and could supplant Jerricho Cothery in the final 53.

That was the good.

The bad? Dink and dunk 2.0 is back from Haley. Our biggest pass play of the night being 14 yards and no offensive touchdowns is a bit concerting. This team needs Leveon Bell and the run game (the OL looked beastly fwiw) to pay huge dividends this year. Our rb coach said he hasnt made a mental mistake yet and this guy isnt afraid to single people out for sucking. Hopefully this means Ben can feed off playaction like he did with Bettis and our offense was at its best in that small stretch.

Surprisingly, our starting left tackle hasn't suffered concurrent heart attack and heat stroke and dropped dead on the practice field. Things are looking better than expected!

Bengals have had some crazy good drafts for the last few years. It should probably be fine as long as Dalton isn't looking way above his pay grade. $26-$28 million to secure two blue chip players and a QB who despite his many flaws is not garbage places fairly reasonable demands on the cap.

Rg3 is most certainly doing his part in all that.
He needs to just sit there and deal with it. Has to realize how badly Shanahan got roasted in the media for leaving him in the playoff game, of course he's going to hold him out of all the preseason games. The gain from playing is so minimal compared to the risk. I love the competitive nature but at some point logic has to peak through into his thinking.

I feel like every Dallas fan I know repeats this mantra while crying themselves to sleep.

Maybe they'll get their wish...and then Kirk Cousins will beat them in December.
Cousins scares me more than IRG3, I hope Synder does something stupid like trading him for picks like they talked about a lot last year.

On an unrelated note, I think the browns would be respectably mediocre this year if they weren't in the crucible that is the AFC North.

Normally I would be sad for them if that turns out to be the case, which seems entirely plausible with a good D and a running game, they would be running themselves out of contention for Clowney, but knowing the way the Browns draft they would probably draft 30 year old WR.

Odd that the winner of the AFC North might be the team that doesn't fuck up and get beat by the Browns once or twice.

Is there a downside to HGH? I remember when Stallone was taking it for the last Rambo movie he basically said it's the elixir of life and we should all be taking it after age 40.

I'm pretty sure big tits is one of the side effects.

Also, I read HGH doesn't improve strength, just muscle mass. da fuck?
