Yeah, but Stokley isn't a TE he's a slot receiver and he's four years older than Boldin. Stats aside, Boldin already knew the offense and had played with Flacco for years. Tight end or not, we all knew Pitta was the common assumption to take over as our possession guy even playing more out of the slot. I think not having Pitta would have meant Boldin finished his contract. Spin it how you want, and hindsight is 20/20, but Boldin was a bad move in retrospect. Stokley and Clark are the kind of guys Ozzie would have cut had they been with us, just like Mason and Heap. They are desperation moves, pure and simple.

That being said, I actually do think Stokely could be a good signing as a one year stop gap. Clark gets blown up hard in the head going over the middle once and we might not see him again for a stretch, personally I think he's an idiot not to retire at this point but fuck it, his life.

After the Tampa game I'm hoping LaQuan Williams gets a chance to run with the first team and see what he can do against starting D's the rest of the preseason. He seems to have a mental edge in real situations over Doss/Reed/Thompson. Fursterburg looked promising too, I wonder now which TE's make the roster because its suddenly crowded.

Doss and Reed are wastes of roster space. I will never understand why they gave Reed a new contract to essentially return 4-5 kicks and get hurt.

La'Quan has always intrigued me. The guy was was literally pulled out of a paint store.

The simple reason Boldin was dealt away for a bag of rocks was that the salary didn't justify the production. Super Bowl run aside, he was good but not great if you compare his cap number to other guys in that range. Yeah, Pitta was a factor and I'm assuming they planned to pay him that money next year. The upside to dealing Boldin is the cap the room to plug holes which Ozzie is doing now.

I expect Caldwell to really adjust by using both Rice and Pierce simultaneously. Rice might catch 90 balls this year and I'm ok with that.

Yeah, but outside the Super Bowl run Flacco was just an average quarterback, but that didn't stop them from throwing all the money they could at him

mmm average? top 10

He's behind Josh Freeman, so wherever Freeman is put Flacco one back.
The funny part is you're being serious. There's talk of Freeman being replaced because he's too inconsistent. Meanwhile Flacco and the Ravens just won the Super Bowl and have been the most successful team in the league since he was drafted.

Well he threw for 27 TDs and 4k yards. However with 17 ints and a poor completion rate.

Worse than I thought

Wasn't it like 9 of those INT's down the stretch of their last six games or something crazy? That's not how you make the playoffs, 5k yards and 30 plus TD's won't mean shit if you throw away half the season in turnovers.

People in glass houses and stuff
Romo is a pretty good QB. I'll be glad when he retires, and I think Dallas fans will appreciate him once he's gone.

That said, FUCK THE COWBOYS ROMO SUCKS DICK FAT FAGGOT.

It's even funnier if you realize two of the players he is talking about Coleman/Butler are former Cowboys

Cowboys 3rd stringers would get injured on any other team.
2nd stringers, and I am pretty sure they were going to be 1st string for NO and before you get all butt hurt, it's not some great feat to replace someone on the leagues worst defense in NFL history.
