Actually, as a defensive coordinator he hasn't been that great. A couple seasons of top 15 here and there, but consistently mediocre. This Saints defense is probably one of his best. I thought he was better than that.

Pretty much tired of hearing Michaels and Collinsworth talk about Rob Ryan - the guy was not fired following a Super Bowl title or something. They're acting like Sean Payton is somehow not the brains in New Orleans. Ryan brothers really cast this spell on the media sometimes.

You keep posting the same example, over and over. Because it's literally theonlyone that you have. Against a Saints defense that was 24th in yards allowed and 13th in points allowed that season. Post some more of his amazing efforts, in the following game against the Giants. He looked wonderful.

So losing to Carolina was a big game eh?
When the Seahawks probably won't lose another game, except against maybe the Saints? Yeah, it's pretty huge. Perhaps I should've used difficult. I know you don't watch much football, but the Panthers are actually not terrible this season, and winning your division is pretty important.

Ummm, they just held Carolina to 10 points and 3 of them came off of a turnover in their own territory. They have held their opponents to an average of under 12 points over the last 6 games. What more do you want the defense to do?
Defense played amazing. It was the only "bright" spot in the game. It doesn't change the fact that the Chiefs D is performing better.

I don't watch much football is pretty funny. I get your team losing the division isn't funny for you.

Do the mental gymnastics of Niners fans trying to downplay the loss of a proven winner in exchange for a flavor-of-the-month while simultaneously using any potential excuse to forgive their team's underachieving make them bros with delusional Cowboys fans? And if so, how many seasons will it take us to beat this ridiculous fuckhattery out of them like we did most of the Cowboys delusionists?

Most 49ers fans aren't delusional enough to just completely disregard 2005-2010 and to anoint Smith as a "proven winner"

Not that I think Alex Smith is the answer to anyone's qb problem. However you can't blame all the losing on him. What was it? 4 or 5 coordinators in as many years and 3 head coaches? Something like that. Then after getting 2 coaches to tell him they believe in him(one lying to his face) he performs a lot better... hmmm.
