I was initially excited about the Rob Ryan hire because I felt Wade's defense was too passive. Then two years of defensive mediocrity followed and Jerry decided to let JG have a say in the defensive side of things and JG had apparently wanted to switch to a 4-3 since he took over. Jerry overruled him initially, hence Ryan, but JG had some leverage after 2012's performance. Injuries be damned, there were more than a couple of games where the defense couldn't get shit done when it needed to which is why things kept falling to Romo to bail them out. But there's only so many times you can go to that well before it backfires (Broncos in 2012 playoffs are a good example). That's not to excuse the current defense but to sort of qualify why Ryan isn't around anymore. If they had decided to stick with the 3-4 then Ryan likely would have stuck around but JG saw an opportunity to make a switch (and with a big named DC on the market no less), and took it.Pretty much tired of hearing Michaels and Collinsworth talk about Rob Ryan - the guy was not fired following a Super Bowl title or something. They're acting like Sean Payton is somehow not the brains in New Orleans. Ryan brothers really cast this spell on the media sometimes.
And a good weekend it was! Good to see the Rams win, but I will have to suffer through a losing streak now I am sure.shocker of the weekend:
Indi getting spanked by the Rams.
Who has the better record The Giants or the Jaguars? How bout them Giants?!
Cleary going to win the division after starting 0-6. I laughed out loud when Michaels and Collinsworth said dallas is still the team to beat in their division. With that defense? Dallas will be lucky to finish 7-9, fortunately for them that still will give them a chance to win their division. How bout them Giants?!
