QFTIn fact, I'd say it gives more incentive for defensive players to try to rock ball carriers near the goal line and remove their helmets with big hits in a world where the NFL is trying to cut down on said hits.

Am I the only one that hears "Pat McGroin" every time they say his name?McGloin looks a solid player
I think he was out cold when he crossed the goal line. He didn't move AT ALL for like 30 seconds after he hit the ground.Pretty sure the guy is dead

Yeah, I was just stating the obvious. That's what we're saying is stupid...
The helmet to helmet hit was not an illegal hit. It is only an illegal hit to a defensiveless player like anyone catching a pass or a QB throwing the ball. Anyone running the ball or running after a catch can be hit that way. It's also ridiculous that the instant his helmet pops off is reviewable, but not the helmet to helmet hit? If you're reviewing a play and you see something so blatant, not a judgement call, and clearly affects the outcome you should be able to factor that in.
You wear it well. It's even gayer than I could have hoped.
I wish it was that cut and dry. Keep in mind one of the first helmet to helmet hits to get fined when they arbitrarily started doing it was James Harrison on that Browns RB right in the middle of the line. Something that hadn't even been considered or talked about and BAM, here's a fine for a rule we just made up after it happened. The helmet to helmet hit was not an illegal hit. It is only an illegal hit to a defensiveless player like anyone catching a pass or a QB throwing the ball. Anyone running the ball or running after a catch can be hit that way.
No its not.If you hit someone in the head with the crown of your helmet, it's unnecessary roughness whether they're defenseless or not
where have you been? thats an automatic 15, crown of the head in any situation. No its not.
any hit initiated by the crown of the helmet is a 15 yard penalty, regardless of whom has or does not have the ball or whether it was O or DThe helmet to helmet hit was not an illegal hit. Oh it's a new rule for this year. You are right. The one exception is that it is not a penalty if it happens within the tackle box.If you hit someone in the head with the crown of your helmet, it's unnecessary roughness whether they're defenseless or not
