Yeah, there are 3 teams that had legitimate reasons not to be interested in Peyton Manning, New England, Green Bay and New Orleans. If Manning offered his services to any other team and they turned him down they deserve to be the worst team in the league.

No way Atlanta would have dumped Matt Ryan. Or Roethlisberger? Eli Manning? You've got multiple super bowls there.

Even if Manning is indeed the better player lots of teams had to consider deep commitments to their existing QBs, Manning's age, the salary cap, etc. It was a no brainer for Denver because they had fucking Tim Tebow, but the Matt Ryan example...he will probably play another 10 years in Atlanta. There were probably more teams that it didn't make sense for, actually.

He also wasn't going to suddenly become as good as even an 85% Manning.
No, but he's on a team that doesn't require a QB as good as Manning, in 2011 they went 10-6 with Schaub out (after going 7-3) and made it to the playoffs, 2012 they went 12-4 and made it to the playoffs and Schaub had a 4000 yard season. I'm pretty sure no one expected him to turn in a gigantic turd for no reason.

You should probably start with the modern era of the NFL and the beginning of Free Agency which is 1992.
you should probably start with learning how to run a community for once in your life instead of killing it.

I really doubt Manning was ever going to the NFC and be in the same conference as Eli, no matter the team. I think it speaks to what he was looking for in a team. Strong run game/OL, strong D, contenders, soft conference. Houston had the added bonuses of Andre Johnson, being in a dome and sticking it in the Colts' faces for a few years.

remind me why Peyton Manning is SIs Sportsman of the Year?

Which city did he heal again? What adversities did he overcome?

Last notable thing peyton did was throw a pick in the playoffs earlier this year.

Huge fucking slight to David Ortiz.

Because he gives every interview possible and sucks up to the media. They had to give out the reward before he gags in the playoffs again. Why the fuck would you give the award to a confirmed and caught cheater like Ortiz? LeBron is a fucking pud but he probably deserved it more then anyone.

thats the goddamn truth.

The Peyton hero worship is always conducted through regular season tinted glasses, and with the impression that he does it by himself. When has Peyton EVER been the only playmaker on a team's offense?

Never.
He's always the only playmaker in the regular season, the narrative switches to his defense sucks and he doesn't get help in the playoffs. Never fucking fails. He's lucky Lovie Smith handed him a fucking superbowl.

Seriously? Is that the entire argument?
I'll concede he's undeserving if you link another notable/HoF athlete with an exceptional relationship with a community in 2013. That came to mind very very quickly.

Drew Brees got his after he won it for NO. I mean there's your golden standard.

I really didn't mean to insult anyone that experienced Katrina, or the bombing directly.

They're not comparable, just both tragic community "events".

I don't understand why winning a championship that also happens to be in a city that had a recent tragic event has anything to do with an individual award.

But then again, all Boston fans are functionally retarded most of the time.
