The funniest part of those clips is seeing teammates lay each other out while the dude runs away no one near him.

That's the difference with Marshawn Lynch, HE LAID EVERY ONE OUT.
Pre-season has a combination of players playing their heart out for a spot as well as players who know they're spot is safe and are just playing at half speed so they don't get hurt.

Marshawn Lynch turned into Super Mario with a star power up and just threw everyone around, some more than once, to win a playoff game.

Comparing the 2 is lunacy

Obviously Jozu's statement had hyperbole in it, and I doubt he truly meant it was as crazy as Lynch's run. The Hawkins play was pretty nuts, but it had a lot to do with shitty tackling by the Chargers

I agree the NFC North is probably the toughest division in football and put it above the west for a couple of reasons. First Seattle cannot win outside their own fucking house with their own refs and piped in fan noise helping them out. Second, the Niners have (well Harbaugh really) issues playing from behind and keeping their composure. Third, if there is one team more snakebit in the entire league than Detroit, it is Arizona. Most importantly, though, the NFC North teams are all within driving distance of each other which lends itself to a much more intense culture of rivalry and the division games are that much tighter as a result.

The one area I give the West the edge in is that their spoiler team (Rams) has what is looking to be the most brutal physical defense the game has seen since the 85 bears. I would be positively terrified to play that team late in the season, especially with Fischer as coach. But the two divisions are so close that it hardly matters until some of the mid season injuries start rolling in. The will both produce two playoff teams (9ers/Hawks, Packers/Bears) but the only one of the bunch I see going the distance is possibly (though I hate to say this) Seattle. Few teams recover gracefully from a SB loss (let alone with Jim "Heart Attack Inc" Harbaugh coached ones) and both of the NFC North contenders have glaring weaknesses (despite Araysar's homerisms) that are going to take a season or so to iron out. Basically, I think unless the Giants have another one of those out of nowhere act of god seasons (which they are due for), my prediction is Hawks vs Broncos for the SB. That is unless the Hawks have to play the majority of their games on the road in the playoffs, then its going to be another season of "who is hot right now" which is when the Giants usually sneak away with it.

I don't think SB loss recovery will be a problem for the 49ers. They recovered from the NFCCG loss two years ago pretty well.

Except in games that actually matter like the NFC Championship game where they came back from 17 points down to win and the Super Bowl where they came back from 22 points down to nearly win amirite? What an off the wall comment.

There wouldn't be a power outage to get you back in it this time. (Hopefully.) Although it could be a blizzard. That would be sweet.

Oof, I may have to eat some crow.

I thought Rex Ryan would last through the year, but I didn't realize until listening to Grantland's NFL Preview Podcast (which I heartily recommend, because again, I love me some Bill Barnwell), that prior to the Jets' Bye Week, in order, they face: Falcons/Steelers/Patriots/Bengals/Saints.

There's a fair chance Rex and Sanchez are gone on November 4th.

Working at the State Fair today I stopped in at the booth where the radio home of the Vikings was having a show, one of their well known show hosts is also a Lions fan and we both started yelling Lions chats live over the air. Felt good man.

Why would they be gone when the Jets are 5-0?

in that order. If not for the Packers, you'd have a bunch of shittastic teams who get their anuses pushed in come playoff time. Steelers and Ravens not to mention has been by far the best competitive rivalry in football until maybe this year with the Niners and Seahawks.

This is Cathan levels of retarded.

AFC North no way is in contention for top 2 spots .

A Steelers team that aged faster than Leon Botha
A Ravens team that has been picked cleaner in the offseason than a supermarket 12 hours before a hurricane
Browns. Enough said.

And a bengals team that although is putting up a respectable season, is always teetering on sliding right back to 2007 levels of Bengals infamy - and is about as proven as Atlantis
