So drafted a 3rd down back in the first round. Ol’ Urbs didn’t take long to look out of his depth.

I mean it's lying Draft season so who knows...from a fantasy perspective will be pissed as fuck if he ruins 2 potential RB1's in Robinson and Etienne with some committee bullshit. The fact he even listed 30 something year old Carlos Hyde in the same sentence with the other two is crazy town.

Man I am psyched about the Mac Jones era! Not sure how this will work with Cam on the team, like they are so different that I don't see how having Cam in front of him benefits him in any way. Plus Cam sucks at this point.

MJ hits every bullet point if you needed a Brady wannabe/close enough in New England. They have 20+ years of packet passer playbooks ready to go!

Just remember Kaines said the 49ers will end up being the WORSE team in the league this year if Lance plays.
Not what I said. Further proof you're an idiot. I said if he starts week 1 and plays 17 games they will be. But I knew you'd be a disingenuous piece of shit and try to hold me to my prediction even of Lance didn't play until week 17.

Which is still fucking ridiculous. "Im not saying they wont be the worse team if he plays some games, but they will IF HE PLAYS ALL OF THEM HURRR"

Shut the fuck up you moron.

Listen you fucking idiot. Rookie QB's who have never seen NFL talent aren't going to make a team better. And he will lose them more games than he wins if/when he plays. If plays all 17, they pick first. Shut the fuck up you stupid, moronic, know-nothing retard.

Im not so sure the 49ers trade Garoppolo now. I thought they were going to move him yesterday, if they dont move him today...I doubt they move him at all. WHo knows maybe starting Jimmy G this year, if he can stay healthy, will be the best option as far as wanting to win right now. Lance most likely isnt ready, and Jimmy G only really played 1 full season.

Does anyone think Mahomes would have been good if they threw him out there as a rookie? Or would he have ate shit all year and then broke out the following season?

edit: lol, Im done shitting up thread arguing with you over such dumb shit. I never said Lance SHOULD play or that he would make them better lol wtf. I just refuted you saying they would be the worse team if he did. They would be bad, like they were last year, but they wouldnt be the worse.

Fuck me im so pumped.

Jimmy G is gone. Im telling you. I bet Lance starts week 1.

McAffee was right, Simms was right, and Schefter was WRONG. A lot of talking heads were saying Lance the last few days though. Eisen called it first.

Guys Trey Lance is 6'4 230 lbs btw. his measurables are just behind lawrence.

You really think Lance will start week 1?

He might. If they traded Jimmy G yes.

What if Garoppolo gets hurt week 3? Im excited my team did the right thing. I want the new era to start as soon as possible. Maybe it wont be right, and you let Jimmy G try to win this year, but I have seen the best of Jimmy G and it wasnt good enough.

I just look at teams like Arizona, who just threw there guy out there, fuck it if he getss sacked 50 times and dont make the playoffs, he is getting reps.

Frankly I think the rest of the 49ers are just too good for them to ever pick 1st even if this kid plays all 17. They managed to win some games last year with Mullens and Bethard, and had four 1 score losses with those two playing as well. That's with the crazy amount of injuries to key guys that is unlikely to be as bad this year, too.

The last QB I can remember getting thrown to the wolves as a rookie that worked out long term was probably Aikmen who had a monster O-Line and the game has sped up considerably since his era. You don't put rookies out as starters without them getting destroyed in the modern era, unless you have a dominant O-Line at which point you probably don't need a rookie under center anyhow.

And go back and look at how many wins Aikman had that year.

Big Ben played in 14 games his rookie year and started 13 (went 13-0 in those starts, too). Seemed to do okay long term for the Steelers. Russell Wilson seems to be working out okay, too.

Guess it depends a little what we mean by "getting thrown to the wolves".
