Well this is a bummer but for that price I can see why they did it. Hopefully they can resign him at a cheaper price. The defense completely changed once they acquired him.

A lot of players I think are going to end up taking 1 year deals on the semi cheap places to wait out the cap going back up from new tv deal. The few teams in good salary cap situations could really clean up if they are smart and patient, not overpaying guys on Day 1.

I feel bad for RBs. I know its a subject often talked about, but the injuries to Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffery, along with the downfall of Zeke and a number of other backs over the years (Gurley, Bell, David Johnson, and more) has left the position market devastated.

Just being a RB is treacherous. The FB position has all but evaporated, and as more teams unearth late round performers, or run out a platoon, the more and more feature RBs are going to be devalued.

WRs on the other hand have begun to see an increase in their market value, most likely due to the rise in passing the league has experienced over the years, as well as the mentioned decline in RB usage and more 4 receiver sets.

I wonder if there will ever be a renaissance for ball carriers? Maybe a super duper star runner will come out and bring maximum appeal back to the position, or if a RB has an incredible campaign and helps a team to a SB title or something.

Interesting chart on draft success in last 4 years.

This kind of worries me that we let Kyle Smith go, he'd been running WFT's draft the last 3 or so years. Big part of building the D we have now, and finding gems like McLaurin and Antonio Gibson.

The Cowboys just took a pass on the next few years. Wtf is that contract. You don’t have Mahomes at Qb Jerry.

Mahome's contract just fucked the market and inflated it insanely, is what that is.

No, that is the Cowboys just refusing to walk away from a shit deal. They would be better off trading him, getting Smith to retire, bite the bullet on shit contracts like Zekes, and rebuilding.

I mean, specifics of the pick matter on if it's really a risk or not.

Dak contract is pretty wild. How often does paying an above average QB elite money work out?
a QB who just had a pretty devastating ankle injury no less

Dont see how this is a bad move for the Dolphins. 1st round talent for a mid round pick. Worth the gamble.
Yeah, just saying a 3rd is real different than like a 5th. Sometimes that risk pays off. Tunsil falling to them after the gasmask vid worked out pretty good!

lol Titans get a 7th, Dolphins get this dude + next year's 7th. So this dude was worth *less* than a 7th round pick, 1 year later
