That's because Baalke is a terrible GM.

49ers snag Charvarius Ward for some much needed help at CB. I'll admit this sounds like a steep price, but hopefully it pans out.

It's nice to see the niners bring in a legit corner. They tend to think all you need at corner is one washed up old man and a couple of low round picks.

The Browns shit is a bit confusing. It's their own fucking fault for letting him play injured all year isn't it? And he's been good enough when healthy that it seems a bit crazy to be chasing his replacement at what will inevitably be a detriment to the rest of the roster.

The best part is they won't get him anyways and are now burning their bridge to the current QB.

It is the Browns. While they've looked somewhat competent at times, they can't help but regress back to the norm. The Bengals will follow soon. Sorry Alex.

Bengals are going to be a top two seed in the AFC. A QB of Burrow's caliber changes everything. The Pats were pretty trash until Brady too.

I wonder if they have concluded he is the locker room issue, so it extends to off the field as well as on it. Get out now before they pay him a ton of money

What locker room problems have they had other than OBJ?

None that I know of, but how much of that stuff is true or not is hard to say, but it was being reported the team was turning against him as much as it was on OBJ. I really don't know what it could be, just sort of wondering out loud.

Seems pretty clear the Browns aren't thinking of him as the long term guy they want by going after Watson.

They aren’t winning a SB with Mayfield, especially once they have to pay him non-rookie money.

Mediocre quarterbacks are brutal. Better that they just burn out quickly than seem like they're "almost there" for 5 years.

Anyway, someone trade a high pick for Jimmy Garoppolo.

What? They had literally gone to a SB like only 4 years before Brady got there. Bledsoe was actually pretty good, before he got hurt. He also pretty much saved them in the AFC Championship that year when he came in for Brady against the Steelers.

Talk to any lifelong Pats fan and they'll tell you a different story. It was a lifetime of sports disappointment until Brady.

Fuck all the current AFC favorites have been perennial disappointments. Bills, Chiefs (they finally won after 50 years), Bengals. Only Ravens and Broncos have had any measurable success in recent decades.

What I'm saying is a franchise QB immediately turns a team around regardless of history. The Seahawks won a Super Bowl after they landed Wilson. And the Saints were a bigger joke than all other franchises until Brees came around.

Hehe, even after Young retired and the 49ers were mediocre to bad for a decade there we could always still count on 4 wins from the Seahawks and Cardinals. Those were good times. Well actually they sucked but that part of them was good.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that. The 49ers have little leverage with the way the QB market has played out so far, and with the Watson situation in the air as well as Mayfield maybe moving on, coupled with Jimmy G being unable to pass a physical right now, I just don't see them getting much of an offer.

On top of that, they just restructured some contracts to make sure they could get under the cap for today's 1PM deadline, instead of just cutting Jimmy G to free up that space. Sure seems like this drama is going to continue well into the summer (really hope I am wrong here) when Jimmy is able to throw again.

This is an interesting proposal.

Everything would be considered a disappointment when you're comparing it to 6 Super Bowls in 18 years

Although not official, Michaels is widely expected to be doing Thursday night, Amazon already grabbed Kirk Herbstreit once Aikman went to ESPN.
