I mean.... Julio isn't even the best WR on his team, so that's a joke. Hopkins obviously is incredible but couldn't stay healthy, and is certainly going to regress in the next year or two. Allen is probably the worst WR in that entire image. That being said, Adams will be the highest paid WR in the league within the next two months so /shrug
And every single one of those guys are proven receivers. They got paid when they were at the top of their game. Kirk is getting paid out of desperation.I mean.... The Zay Jones contract is more egregious than the Kirk one. Especially since they chose to let Chark go and signed Zay Jones to basically the same money.
Holy shit at that contract for Von Miller.
Browns is the Browns. Not sure by want an adult means exactly but seems him and Cleveland are indeed done.
Holy shit at that contract for Von Miller.
loved this bit about Miller from Rams reporter Jordan Rodrigue in The Athletic today:
Von Miller joins the Bills: What will he bring to Buffalo and what do the Rams do now?
It’s an interesting thing to compare the acquisition of Miller by either of these teams, at the time they did. When the Rams traded for Miller in November, they did so knowing they were contenders who needed to get a little extra “oomph” in their outside pass rush, especially with the way coaches were scheming double- and triple-teams against Aaron Donald and chipping against Leonard Floyd.
That worked out for the Rams, and then some. Miller’s presence allowed them to rush only four when needed. Their numbers in this regard increased through the second half of the season, which allowed them to get more creative with their coverage and rotations in the middle and defensive backfield. And then when the playoffs arrived, they were able to do a lot of creative things specifically up front with Donald and Miller working off each other and also opening blitz space.
What I think needs to be talked about as it pertains to the Bills, though, is what Miller lent to the locker room as a (then one-time) Super Bowl champion. He literally brought a replica Lombardi Trophy to the Rams facilities, set it on the training room table that everybody walked by each morning and wrote daily notes next to it about what it would take to hold the real thing. He reached Donald in a way not many people can and actually helped Donald find another gear to his game — which, let’s face it, we didn’t realize was even possible. There are only a few teams who truly contend each year, and the Rams are one of them. Now, the Bills certainly are as well. But the difference between constant playoff appearances and an actual championship comes down to the little details on the field, and off it.
how, by being traded halfway through the season?Von is going to win back to back rings.
I wouldn't hold your breath on that. The 49ers have little leverage with the way the QB market has played out so far, and with the Watson situation in the air as well as Mayfield maybe moving on, coupled with Jimmy G being unable to pass a physical right now, I just don't see them getting much of an offer.
On top of that, they just restructured some contracts to make sure they could get under the cap for today's 1PM deadline, instead of just cutting Jimmy G to free up that space. Sure seems like this drama is going to continue well into the summer (really hope I am wrong here) when Jimmy is able to throw again.
