So the on going Luka story is the conditioning and non committal to defense.

That conditioning and non-committal to defense got the Mavericks to the Finals. It's 100% bullshit.

He played 39 minutes a game last year - 100 games - against constant double teams and into the finals against a really fantastic Boston team who's been right there for years. Only a complete retard is buying that retards narrative. The biggest joke to me, is the other NBA owners. You are all complete cucks - you let the Lakers just fall ass backwards into ANOTHER generational superstar for peanuts, and they are allegedly all happy today because " they are taking back player power!11! ". Fucking idiots. Allowing that trade to go through completely destroys all the middle market teams' hard work because, and mark my fucking words, someone like Giannis will land in LA at some point and NBA ratings will magically go through the roof again as we watch yet another LA dynasty destroy this league. Big free agents don't go to Dallas, OKC, Denver, Milwaukee, Memphis whatever. But they do go to the Lakers with zero convincing the player. But hey, at least LA's little brother Boston got one title before this shit storm all went down. OKC, Denver etc.. how can you be a fan of these teams and not be utterly pissed off at this league, it's commissioner and it's owners?

Man, thank GOD Nico wasn't with Dallas when Dirk was here - he'd have shipped him to Toronto for cheese fries and we'd never have a title because he was also "lazy, not competitive enough, slack on D, etc". Sickest I've EVER been as a sports fan, and I'm a Cowboys fan ffs. Dallas had two guys, just two, who we got from the jump and adopted as our own. They were OURS. The Mavs front office just torched their relationship to the fans - and by the way, what player would EVER actively go to Dallas now?

Lifelong purple and gold fan checking in... (I'm SICK). SICKKKKK. FUCK

Adelson's are money grubbing jews with a bigger plan, and Nico is a room-temperature IQ shoe salesman who wants his "boys" on his team - aka black american players. They did Luka insanely wrong, absolutely scum-level discourse coming from them.

Fuck that organization, they've always been a bit shady and basement dwelling if it wasn't for the miracles of Dirk and Luka. Wish I was born a Spurs fan or something.

Havent seen anyone mention it, but I guess a silver lining for Mavs fans is that it couldve been worse. Imagine if Luka did an hour long special on ESPN then announced hes taking his talents to LA. Man, i forgot how shitty that was. Co.pletely changed my view on LeBron.

Weren't we discussing years back how Luka needed to get out of Dallas? That him going to a major market was nothing but win for the NBA? Did anyone expect it to be like this?

Shit is just wild. Not sure I've seen a backlash this big from a franchise's fans.
The only thing I've ever seen in Dallas that was on this level was when Jerry Jones fired Tom Landry. Around here that was on the scale of the Roman's sacrificing Jesus, and this was in the pre-internet days.

So the on going Luka story is the conditioning and non committal to defense.
The Luka conditioning thing makes no sense if you look at the numbers. Somehow an "out of shape" Luke had more minutes on the floor last season than any other player in the league, yet they say he's out of condition. He had also just requested they build a specific and more focused conditioning team in Dallas. His non-committal to defense, that doesn't surprise me for any superstar just hitting 25.
If they had held these things as rational justifications for getting rid of a superstar tier talent they would have traded away Dirk at the beginning of his career.

Ah yes. A return to the days when you could buy a nosebleed seat at Reunion and walk down to the 5th row to watch a game.

Apparently he had just closed on a $15m house in Dallas. He was essentially the most loved face in local sports here.

Odd move since he said he wouldn't sign an extension there. Purely financial maybe.

He can always try to crazy his way out of it, then everyone didn't see anything when Draymond beats his ass.

He did sign a 2 year 121m extension though. It was always about the money and getting one last bag for a 36 year old with a lot of miles.

I hope it works out for the Warriors, but man I'm not seeing it with Jimmy.

Lmao ok. Warriors yeah. Heat? I doubt it. Phoenix just gonna have to take what they can get I guess.
