yeah, gotta stick to playoff choking against the chiefs these days.

i kid. I kid.
Pretty sure he still has one of the worst deep balls in the league and he's doing a great job of padding his stats in blowouts against trash teams or by capping off drives where King Henry did most of the work. Even if he does end up with one of the best passing season in league history he'll still be one of the worst playoff QBs in the league.

Regular season Lamar and playoff Lamar are definitely two different beasts haha.

Although losing to the Chiefs in the playoffs is just basically an everybody meme. As impressive as it would be if they 3peat, I hope it doesn't happen.

So was trying to find some advanced stats for deep passing, but I'm not a subscriber to anywhere like PFF or anything. Some random funny shit that popped up with a quick google search, though:

Holy hell Anthony Richardson is basically the new Fuck It, Go Deep guy. His intended air yards are just insanely higher than any other QB this year. Nobody else averaging over 10 he was at like 12 and change.

Also this gem, the worst catchable throw rate on deep passes the last 4-5 years is Caleb Williams this year at 32.8%. 2nd was Mac Jones last year (35.8%). 3rd Zach Wilson 2022 (39.4%).

Would have thought Jameis or Mason Rudolph would be up there, but I guess they're just more random dumbass passes, not necessarily deep balls.

If the Cowboys wanted to give Zeke a chance at the playoffs, they shouldn't have signed him to begin with.

kinda a bummer that he wont get to try for it(101 yards away), particularly since it is against the giants.

But Dickerson did it in 16 games - Barkley would have needed a 17th.

Hell, if we want to be accurate, Barkley achieved less yards in 16 games than all of the following:
Adrian Peterson (2012), 2,097
Jamal Lewis (2003), 2,066
Barry Sanders (1997), 2,053
Derrick Henry (2020), 2,027
Terrell Davis (1998), 2,008
Chris Johnson (2009), 2,006

And even then, on a per game basis, OJ Simpson in '73 still beats all of them, with 2,003 in just 14 games.

Barkley needed 2 more games to get 2 more yards than OJ - those aren't comparable achievements.

Ironically despite 2 fewer games, OJ only had 13 less rushing attempts than Saquon. It's why Barry Sanders' 1997 season always so impressive, 6.1 ypc average over 335 attempts (only 3 more than OJ).

Frankly Chris Johnson's season also stands out, as he also put up 500 receiving yards with 2k rushing. Sanders' 1997 season is the closest to Johnson's scrimmage yards record among the other 2k rushing year guys.

Chris Johnson is always forgotten about. Weird considering how absolutely insane he was for a couple seasons.
