Pretty much all Terrans get a fast ebay these days. Any build that doesn't get one is pretty fucked because Oracles and DTs are just too big a threat and both are completely hard countered by turrets. Another reason I love Demuslim's build is the 4:30 ebay.

If you're losing to the same timing a bunch why aren't you reviewing the replay for the timing?
Their builds are all over the place, so it's difficult. Mainly cause I'll occasionally lose to a fucking Platinum Toss. Meanwhile, Masters T and Z I feel completely confident against.

I just need to fucking understand ZvP better. I don't know how Life? killed PartinG? (could've been Roro vs. someone else, I don't remember) with just lings basically. Watching that I was just like "wtf?" the whole time. Apparently 2/2 lings counter colossus lol.

Because that army was 0/0. Upgrades, dear Watson. If he tried that against 3/0 army, he would get demolished, but he saw that there was no spinning forge and the army was 0/0. Just check the army before engaging. You also get so much out of engaging from multiple directions, that's how Stephano pretty much built his ZvP career. If you are losing to cheese, just make more queens.

Builds all over the place is stupid answer. Builds are all over the place until the very top of the ladder. That guy was so bad you lost to him ? Look at the earliest time they showed up and adjust accordingly.

I know, but it was still a ridiculous thing to watch. That game really showcased the power of upgrades, didn't realize something like that was ever possible.

And yeah, I guess I'll just build spores in ZvP once I take my evo. Not like that'll ruin my economy or anything, I'm just stubborn.

What is the detection range on static defense btw? I've never bothered to find out. Should I just build the spore in my mineral line?

I don't know the number off the top of my head but it is fairly hefty. Like 11 or 13.

Best way to counter immortal sentry all in? If they have good FFs, I can't do shit with my lings, and roaches just get pumped. Bait FFs? Do I need to kill his move out force before he can reinforce?

Basically, all of the above. Ling/Hydra is probably the best and do every little thing you can to delay it. Once he runs out of energy and you have comparable armies, you won. Look for pylons, as big creep spread as possible, ling runbys after he moves out, surrounding the moving out force, baiting FFs. If you can't take the fight, just counterattack (nydus also possible) and try to break the natural while building zillion spines in your natural aka the TLO strat. If you want to feel extra fancy, you can try small counter to make him look away from his army so you can surround it before the FFs get cast.

Anyone know how accurate the unranked matchmaker is as far as skill level? I have steadily moved up the last couple of weeks and today I was playing nothing but gold+ and even got a masters player. I've been waiting to do placements because I've heard it's easy to get stuck in a lower division if the placements go bad and I'd like to improve to the point of playing against people who aren't one basing and all-inning every other game.

I actually beat a diamond in a long macro game today. Pretty stoked about improving now that I'm consistently playing. As someone who hasn't played competitively since the first season it's been nice to see pretty rapid improvements.

Next on the agenda: figuring out a way to tvt without tanks. I hate that matchup so much right now.

Unranked is much looser, but it has separate MMR, so you can just play someone who is ranked masters but tanked their unranked rating to offrace or something. League is just fluffy way of ranking you, your MMR doesn't care about your league, you don't get "stuck", you still keep playing equally rated people. If you don't want to play against 1base allins, then just learn how to defeat those, it will make you much better. They have their place though, good rule for laddering is to play the most safe and solid builds.

I'm trying, and I've started walling in when I go orbital instead of waiting til after I get my CC started. That has helped immensely. Before I was getting hit with a lot of stuff right before my wall would get finished. I've given up ever trying to CC first because it triggers an instantaneous all in it seems, and every time I hold it it's just because the other guy didn't attack properly.

Really trying to practice reaper micro, as I either keep them alive and get a good scout while doing damage or I macro properly, I'm incapable of doing both right now.

See, that's pretty good case for measuring improvement, you need to know what kind of damage is realistic and what is your BO, then you need to figure out when to pull back those reapers so you build stuff in your base so they don't die when you are not watching. You can even practice it against AI.

Usually just knowing your BO like the back of your hand makers this easier. Since you know how long it feels until you make your next structure

I play unranked a lot of the time cause I don't feel like flying around the map or playing all that serious (my APM avg ranked vs. unranked is something retarded like 320 vs. 110), and it's pretty fucking random with my opponents. I've played GM and Masters (only GM I ever beat was a Terran barcode, otherwise I just get roflstomped), but I've also played Silver and Gold. The silver and gold weren't high MMR either (basing this off their skill, obviously), I'm pretty sure the game was tired of looking for a match and was like "fuck it." I've also had a TON of people rage on me when they realize I'm unranked and I "stole" their ladder points lol.

tl;dr - I think unranked is far less rigid and far more random.

Protoss is exceedingly homosexual. I can take a ton of good fights and keep getting advantages but if I make one bad engagement it is over.

I'm sure I'm just bad but that's how it feels. I win the first major engagement and by the time I push to try to deny his third he has enough to crush me and then he just counters and crushes me. That's happened twice tonight. It seems illogical to win the first fight and not try push the advantage but I two of my three losses tonight were to that shit.

Also, I got swarm hosted really fast by a two base zerg. No idea how the hell to break that if I haven't even got a tech lab on my factory yet for tank.

This is fun. I can't wait til the mechanical stuff becomes second nature and I can really start focusing on tactics. It's crazy how much better I play in game five or six every night versus game one and two.

I don't know how 2base swarm host would work since they require so much gas. Generally you'll see a Zerg go 3base swarm host and you just drop. The locusts can't be everywhere at once so just attack where they are not.
