Saw this yesterday, really want my money back. It was a major let down and was I the only one who wanted spider man to stop crying about everything?

Was about what I expected. Meaning it was good, not great, not in Avengers or Captain America 2 league.

Set's up a 3rd nicely.

The mid credits cross-over scene was a nice touch.

I had convinced myself so much that they wouldn't kill Gwen because of how much it was telegraphed and any comic-reading fans would expect it that I really was shocked when it happened.

Also it felt like the movie should have ended when Electro was defeated, and thought it was funny that the Rhino isn't in it for much more than what we've seen in the trailers.

Movie was pretty good - i thought it would have too much going on with multiple heroes since everyone on the forum had leaky vag but it was really just 1 sans the last 10mins? The movie did focus more on Parker/Stacey but the pacing was spot on and it all transitioned very well. The major gripe for me was the final scene with the stupid kid - why? Such a pointless scene.

8/10

I'd say that it was better than a lot of the reviews gave it credit for. Not spectacular, but good. However, it suffered the same problem that Spider-Man 3 suffered (well, oneof the problems Spider-Man 3 suffered): it had more villains than it had screen time to flesh out. Rhino's basically just in there as teaser for the Sinister Six, so the fact he's only in the movie for about 10 minutes didn't really bug me, Electro's story arc felt reasonably fine, but Harry's was way too condensed. Maybe if the movie had had an extra 30 minutes or an hour (or had him have a multi-movie story arc before going Goblin) they could've managed, but as it was, it felt way too rushed.

The action was good, but Electro literally generating dubstep during that final fight was a bit much.

And Garfield has the ugliest cry-face I've seen in a movie in some time, and he had too many occasions to pull it out.

Overall, I'd give it somewhere between a 7.5 and an 8.

Harry is also part of the S6 which is why he didnt even come in really till the end - the movie was generally spiderman vs electro. Harry was generally in as harry and not goblin, so comparing it to SM3 which had 2 villains full time then some terribad venom is a bit off base.

My gripe is it seemed like some images from the commercials were cut, the dubstep combat, and that fuckin stupid kid at the end.

Garfield crying didnt bother me bc all men look ugly when they cry and if you think you look good then you're surrounded by liars :p Besides he had like 2 scenes of it? early and end? I'll have to double check when i go see it again but in 3D.

Very well done, best of the Spiderman movies yet, Garfield has become Peter Parker, plays him fucking perfectly. When he hosed down Electro with the fireman hat on. A+ Perfect.

9/10.

Neither good nor bad. I don't buy Garfield as Spiderman at all. Maybe they can reboot it again, and cast Casey Affleck as Spiderman, just to go along with the dipshitz Ben Affleck as Batman.

Electro was a shockingly horrible villain, and they need to give Greengob a permanent rest.

$35.5 million on Friday including $8.7 million from late Thursday shows. First movie did $35.9m while Winter Soldier did $36.9m
Plot was better in Cap:Winter Soldier but I honestly had more fun watching Amazing Spider-Man 2 than Cap: 2.

Just saw it again and i just cannot forgive the last scene with the annoying fuckin kid - It just annoys me to no end at how ridiculous and out of place it is.

The random air traffic control and plane scenes were just as bad if not worse. I could buy the kid scene more than those scenes.

I dig how well it set up everything for the next movie - I feel Rhino is a bit weak tho bc the character seems to have the IQ of a marshmallow but i dont remember reading many comics with him in it to comment.

Remove the cliches, the absurd shaky cam in 3D scenes (seriously, fuck you director) and actually get some meaningful character development instead of family lesson time / crying / random side story with zero point to the actual plot and maybe you'd be on your way to being the low end of Marvel movies.

Not enough good to make you forget the bad.

Wow... how far apart can people be on a movie. Lot's of 8.5 and 9's and then you get all the extreme negatives.

Can't wait to see it myself. I guess comparatively, I enjoyed these series so much more than the original my opinion is biased. I like Garfield as well as Parker/Spidey.

Again, I haven't seen it, but if the crying is an issue, that isn't Garfield's fault. He's just doing whatever a writer/director is telling him. In my opinion, any fault of Garfield has been as a result of the script in places where McGuire just couldn't carry the role in addition to the writing being bad.
