Can anyone provide some info on the bloodlust buff (CTRL-F)? If you kill someone from your own faction, what's stopping you from turning it off so you become safe? Or am I missing something completely here?
Also when can you start killing people in your own faction? Is it once you are outside the starter map (where you get your own farm and shit?)
Bloodlust Toggling lets you target friendlies in the "Conflict" zones (unprotected non peace time 30+ zones) and inflict damage. This will flag your name purple and will take 30 seconds (Depending on action) to unflag back to green named. Being purple and commiting crimes will leave blood stains or foot prints at the crimes location, and can be reported by nearby friendlies for up to I think 12 hours.
At the time of the reports submission, you will incur a criminal point increase relevant to the crime commited, inflicting pvp dmg will leave blood stains which incur you 1 criminal point, I believe theft is the second most crime incursion, murdering being the most heinous crime.
Being green while doing any of these pvp actions is considered lawful and will not inflict crime points, nor is it reportable. Stealing will not flag you purple I don't think, at least I haven't seen it flag me purple yet.
Instances where you can do things and stay green:
- Someone dies and drops a trade-run resource pack, it is then globally available for anyone to take.
- An open world (non farm-land) planted item that goes beyond the 24 hour ownership criminal protection is free to take without incurring reportable criminal points.
- Fighting someone who flags (bloodlust modes) on you first
- Fighting any purple named player while remaining green
- Stealing someone's boat (I believe is not a crime for some reason, as they get the boat back later, it's mainly just a troll action or a trade pack stealing situation)
- Fighting or fucking with any red named enemy of the opposing factions will not count as criminal activity
Again most of this stuff won't be relevant til 30+ and in unprotected zones, stealing open world planted non farmland protected crops will incur criminal points at the time of reporting.
Hope this helps clear stuff up for you.
