I just started front squatting like a month ago. I've been doing 5x5s. Are you trying for a single at 315? I was back squatting like 310-330 5x5 but haven't tried anything over 225 5x5 for fronts yet. How would you say they compare for difficulty?
Most people don't realize how important back strength is during a front squat. You'll get buried fast if your back and quads are shit. Yes, for a single. I can probably do 225 5x5 without an issue, but I'm squatting every day (lowbar-highbar-front-repeat) during this cut trying to maintain strength and stay limber (been having a lot of knee issues I think comes from sitting at a desk all day so squatting every day really helps).

Today was pretty basic for example: barx10, 135x8, 185x5, 205x5, 225x3, 245x1, 265x1, 275x1. Then I go into a bunch of hypertrophy work. You'll see it's not a lot of volume but the intensity is high, so everything else is pretty high volume lower intensity.

No need to wait!!

I'm not that big. Though black is an accurate description.
I fully expected guys to complain about the range of motion in the video. Lots of guys shit talk, but can't do that once. In the words of CT Fletcher, "Forget about range of motion, get your ass in motion."

Well, I can complain about the range of motion and acknowledge that I probably couldn't move that from the rack, also. Haha. If he did full ROM he couldn't carry that weight. But thats ok, he's fucking strong either way.

I figured the sarcasm would come through in all caps. He's not a powerlifter so it doesn't matter.

Brahma's strong as fuck.

That being said, 90 percent of the people in my gym do half-rep squats and it just looks ridiculous. I remember when I first started out, I was perplexed by my weak-ass friends all saying they squat 3 plates. Now, after seeing what passes for a squat, I understand. I could unrack 405 and bend my knees a bit and that's a single, baby!

If I touch my chest I can do more reps because of the small bounce. You do NOT want to touch your chest on the workout. There is no benefit unless in a competition. The risk to your shoulders is too much.

Precisely why powerlifters pause it on the chest. Touch and go can also be done without bouncing.

I do six reps with 315, with a powerlifting pause at the bottom of almost a second. It's not pleasant to experience. I'd like to get to 10, but it's pretty stressful to the body at the bottom with a pause. I've worked out at powerlifting gyms before, and am used to the derision. Either way, it's an accomplishment most people will never get to in their lives.

I will do the 1 sec pause and get back to dudes today. It's my 2nd chest day this week so I will be a little off as far as strength goes.

I'm just trying dat 3 plate. I have horrendous upper body genetics (pretty sure you've all seen me shirtless) and my max after almost 2 years lifting (June) is still only 275. #povertybench

It took me probably 3 to get to 275. Be patient.

Word? I just wanna hop on the juice train and bench it tomorrow.
I started training when I was 13. I don't think I benched 275 until college. And that was mainly because I had access to better food. Mom and Dad limited my protein. At college, I'd bring home cafeteria food and store it in my fridge.

The problem a lot of guys have when taking the "juice" is that their muscles get stronger, and the joints can't keep up. So they walk around in joint pain all day.
