Thank God everyone involved in the brawl except for Brick forgot THEY WERE CARRYING GUNS.

They really handled Merlyn and his backstory well. Gave him a lot of much needed depth in a single episode. He'll be less of a cliched mustache twirler from now on and that's great. John Barrowman can handle the nuanced villain with a purpose well, look forward to him spending time with Ollie.

So Lance calls out Roy's identity, but still doesn't know who Oliver is.

Merlin is magically hacked into Felicities computers (I don't believe for a second that they don't see the webcam that is massively obvious, so has to be hacked).

Meh

Also Felicity doesn't bother me at all. She's weird, but it's because she is in the role of the teams conscious.

LOL yeah I got a kick out of Lance saying 'You think a mask and a little leather can hide your identity" or some such. Also, I loved the look on Roy's face when he sees Oliver's arrow land for the first time. I too want to see more of Merlyn training. He is a badass and I hate him.....but he plays the character so well.

WTF is up with Brick though? Is he just too ornery to worry about bullet wounds and arrows? I get that he's a badass, and I saw all the scars on him proving he's tough, but come on. At least he finally got his ass beat, but I was starting to wonder.
In the comics, he's a metahuman who is invulnerable and has super strength (Brick (comics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Apparently, they depowered him for the show. He makes a good Arrow villain, as in the comics anyway, arrows just bounced off of him.

One thing that bothered me about the episode (other than a lack of explanation on how Arrow didn't die), was how Wildcat was beat down by Brick. Wildcat is a better melee combatant than Arrow and Meryln, yet he gets curbstomped so easy? Fod God's sake, Wildcat trains members of the JLA/JSA on how to fight, but he loses like that? Understand, in the DC Universe (current age), Batman and Lady Shiva are the best fighters, Wildcat is one rung below, and characters like Merlyn and Arrow are below them. Wildcat could have fought Arrow + Merlyn + Brick at the same time and given them hell.

I know Wildcat has trained Black Canary, andI'm pretty sure he's trained Batman in fighting.I'm pretty sure they are writing his character off of the show (because the actor found a better paying gig), but at least give him a more epic ending.

The dude that plays Wildcat got cast on another show. This is prolly a way to have him fade off the show.

Merlyn backstory was very good. I'm glad they actually did something to make him at least slightly more ambiguous. Is Merlyn that much better of a combatant than Oliver that he can train him to fight Ra's again?

Wildcat in Arrow not equal to comic book Wildcat, more like a bad Stripsey. Come on now you should know this by now.

I can't wait until they do Darkseid, and he's just a regular crime boss that wears night vision goggles, and wears a grey and blue striped suit.

Different fighting style really. Merlyn is a better swordsman I think. He also knows how Ra's fights.

Seems like they established Oliver as the superior fighter

It's sword fighting he needs to learn. Katana even says that he needs to learn how Ras fights to be able to beat him.. That whole "Only the apprentice can beat the master" thing that went around the episode.

I really dig the Merlin story arc as well, I think it's been done pretty well.

Laurel I'm glad (like someone mentioned) gets her ass kicked a lot. Because I dislike her and because it would have been a real annoying thing to see her come out and whoop some ass so quickly.

I agree with Mrs Smoke being annoying as fuck now....but I guess they needed her to be driven away from Oliver so she could go help finish off the Atom suit.

I'm pretty surprised at how much I like this show.

It's still my favorite out of the superhero shows on now. Other than the Felicity emo stuff it's been a pretty solid season.

Even knowing nothing about the comics none of you should think mobster Darkseid "works for you" =P But yea, it's not the comics.

Yeah the Darkseid thing obviously is extreme, but yeah I think you just have to accept that they've toned down anyone that has real superpowers in this show.
