Nah I like the Ant Man costume about the same, both are just really good suits. I just wasn't expecting the ATOM armor to look as well put together as it is for a TV show. I think it just lends to the rumors that he may get his own spin off.

Why do they have to make the colors so dark? Are they going to make him dark and gritty also? I can't wait until they do Booster Gold. They'll probably change his colors to brown and black and have him speak in a deep and gravelly voice.

Also, it appears he'll be more tech focused, and less focused on shrinking stuff and using his density enhanced super strength? A few years back, they tried to make him more relevant by actually letting him shoot atomic blasts from his hands. It looks as if they are trying to make him DC's version of Iron Man.

And then Deathstroke killed him. Maybe they'll make Deathstroke his big bad? As far as I know, he died only once, and didn't come back until the reboot of the DC universe.

Bright colors has worked fine for Marvel. The problem is DC sees it differently. A few years back, when Batman outsold Superman 2:1, DC issued a memo (that was leaked) stating that people don't like bright and happy superheroes any more. When in doubt, all characters would have darker costumes and be grittier. It's one reason why Superman in Man of Steel was entirely different than what we've seen. Because DC considered that Brandon Routh movie to be a financial flop. Also, Arrow is much darker on TV than in the comics. Hell, in the comics, he wore bright green and went around cracking jokes all day.

Only part I don't like in that picture is the face mask looks a bit big but I am guessing in action it will be a view screen etc.

Iron man is different would always look good, Cap looks terrible in that outfit and went darker in Winter Soldier. Also Vision doesnt have the same colors in the new Avengers

What's sad is, DC has believed over the last 30 years, that the only two characters people want to see is Batman/Superman. So when they branch out to the TV shows, it's like Gorilla Grodd did a personality switch on them, and gave the Flash Superman's personality, and Arrow Batman's personality. I'm not sure how that's going to play out in the JLA movie, when you have two guys acting like Batman and two guys acting like Superman, but on the same team, and people are going to see them fight a guy who they'll think DC ripped off of Marvel (Darkseid & Thanos). In reality, if you look at the origin of Thanos, he's a direct ripoff of Darkseid. Marvel did the ripping off.

Im starting to wonder if Atom will actually shrink... So far in the show the mentions of miniaturization has been in the context of taking the O.M.A.C. tank type gear and shrinking it to use on the A.T.O.M. suit.

The Atom possesses the power to alter his size down to the subatomic level while retaining his natural strength level. This is accomplished by using the remnants of a white-dwarf star made into a belt buckle worn with his costume. Originally, he had to manipulate his abilities via the belt and later with hand movements before eventually syncing with his brainwaves itself. The Atom is one of the few heroes in the DC Universe that has 100% control over his body on the molecular level (Plastic Man and The Flash being examples of others), thus making him exponentially more powerful than he is often portrayed; he is only limited by his application of his powers. Some of the applications he's demonstrated include reducing his mass to glide through the air (simulating flight, like Wonder Woman) and increasing his mass to punch through concrete. He's also demonstrated the ability to make his costume appear and disappear at will by shifting its atoms between this dimension and another.

He has been shown to be able to ride phone lines to his destination by dialing a number and traveling through the handset (his signature use of his power), and recently shrinking small enough to travel on photon signals through fiber optic cable.

Seems like they could do a lot of this without having to use a ton of fx on shrinking inside stuff. Flying around via wires. Punching through stuff. Also this doesn't mention it but they did on the show that he also has had the ability to do some pew pew stuff.

Ahh apparently back in October they said that Atom would NOT have shrinking powers on Arrow because they did not feel the need for superpowers clouding up that show. Makes sense given that it was originally Blue Beetle they wanted to do until DC said "nope!" at the last minute and suggested Ray Palmer as a replacement. So the A.T.O.M. suit is basically Iron Man with miniaturized gadgets and systems rather than shrinking.

you guys remember when ATOM shows off a computer watch prototype to felicity and her mom? the dude is working with miniaturization tech. he also has dwarf star alloys in the suit.

I can't say I like how they're handling the whole Merlyn thing. His character development has just gone to shit when it could have been a cool frenemy relationship. It would have been MUCH more interesting if Merlyn was the who had saved Oliver. That and wtf was up with Merlyn and Thea? "Thea, we need to bail, the most dangerous man in the world is hunting us pack your shit." Which is an understandable thing to say and do. Thea tells him we should just stay and fight and that Ra's is some mook who should fear them. Why is he entertaining this at all?

Also, I'm really glad they're showing her screw up and get her ass kicked while she learns how to be a super hero.
I was seriously prepared to just be pissed at the show if she came out whooping ass like her sister. Because she's had 3 weeks of boxing lessons. It's still retarded her not just getting served left and right, but when she just got beat up by the first random dork I was really happy.

Also DJ douchebag having a purpose besides love interest for Thea is good. Because when he saved the club on the first night by hitting play on his iPod I wanted to blow up my TV.

Have to see(and hear) the Atom suit in action before judging. Still pic just sort of looks like half finished Iron Man armor mixed with motocross protective gear. But they've done a good job with powered people etc and when it's in action I imagine it will look great.

Good episode, still not sold on how they brought Ollie back from the dead with no Lazarus pits though.

Felicity was extremely annoying tonight. Did she really just say that because Merlin used someone that Ollie loved, to kill someone else that Ollie loved, that she didn't want to be loved by him any more? Ugh.

she just wants to be held. all the guys she likes are superheroes and she comes second to them. i am glad ollie is back, i rather see her angry than crying. breaks my black heart. she will come around, they(the show runners) are doing this no doubt to have her work on ATOM's suit more.

i repeat what i said last week,. brick is a bad motherfucker. he bitchslapped wildcat. he would have probably bitchslapped merlyn as well if he hadnt already taken a few beatings previously. i am also interested in seeing more of merlyn's LoA training. i loved that showdown with brick's gang and the glade people. oh and more katana, chick is hot as fuck. she looks like she could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.

i just had a thought. is it possible that caity lotz's black canary could be resurrected in the lazarus pit and come back to the show? or was she dead too long when nyssa found out she had died?

I have to agree, I was almost wanting to fast forward through every single speech Felicity gave. I wonder if it is difficult to act with tears constantly welling up in her eyes.

She's been that way for several episodes, as Homsar mentioned, and it is really getting old fast.

WTF is up with Brick though? Is he just too ornery to worry about bullet wounds and arrows? I get that he's a badass, and I saw all the scars on him proving he's tough, but come on. At least he finally got his ass beat, but I was starting to wonder. If Merlyn couldn't beat the fuck out of even an extremely tough normal guy, with all of his training, I was going to have to nerdrage.
