Black Widow isn't a mutant (Homo sapiens sapiens), and neither is Captain America

They were both part of the super serum experimentation tho. Black widow also ages very slowly.

Oliver is like Batman, he has no powers.
Right but I don't think MCU Black Widow was exposed to any super serum, she's just a product of the Red Room.

Right I should correct that. She doesn't have the same serum that captain america took to become super human.

the Red Room agency made super humans through genetic manipulation. Which included heightened agility, Immune to all disease/infections/disorders, heightened intellect, resistant to ageing, and rapid healing.

I'm not sure about the MCU version yet, they haven't let us peak through that curtain until Avengers 2.

There's a very vague resemblance but no that's not him. Doubt Fox would allow him to do work for a competing project, even if that competition is indirect.

I have Merlyn, Slade, and Ollie at the same for now, if he wasnt insane he would beat Ollie. In the comics Slade is by far more powerful, not even funny
Slade and Oliver I would agree are about even, but no way is Merlyn. Olie's won the last 3 times and the last 2 were pretty quick and decisive.

The reason Oliver needs Merlyn to train him isn't because he's superior in any way, it's because Merlyn was trained by Ra's. The logic is either that Merlyn being familiar with Ra's fighting will give him an advantage, or that it's just some silly trope they're using to explain how Oliver goes from getting his ass handed to him to defeating Ra's in the season finale. Kind of like how during the first season Oliver couldn't beat Merlyn until he "knew what he was fighting for" or something corny to that effect.

The end of season 1 being the first time Oliver won. Then there was the 3 way fight between Oliver, Merlyn, and Nyssa that Oliver that established Oliver as the clearly superior fighter. I want to say there was another fight in arrow's hideout with a similar result, but I'm blanking on it so I might be misremembering that one.

He didnt beat him, Merlyn saved Ollie from nessa, Ollie runs off and comes back and stops Merlyn from killing Nessa, Merlyn could have beat Ollie but saved him. Merlyn also beat Ollie when he unmasked him in season 1 and couldnt kill him, end of season 1 Ollie had diggle with him. As of right now there is no reason to think Ollie is better than Merlyn

Except that Ollie has spent this entire time grinding xp whereas Merlyn has been distracted powerleveling Thea.

how do we know, ollie has been training roy and coming back from the dead... if anything Merlyn has the advantage of not being hurt this time and ollie lost exp from the Res

He was obviously waiting for a perfect rez which is why he had to have that rogue drag him so far. Also it seems like he didn't actually spend much time training Roy outside of teaching him how to slap water, seeing as how he got punked by DJ Assassin almost as easily as Thea did.

*edit*

Also, how the hell did he (or Merlyn for that matter) know Thea was in trouble? Were they listening to or watching her have sex with DJ Assassin?

Im not sure why its not discussed but the CGI on arrow is god awful, why Flash is so much better. Also Ollies prison was fucking stupid, who would ever build that. Just terrible writing, slade need to come back and be an antihero

As much as I love him, he's way to firmly in the villain camp to make a comeback as an anti-hero, and someone mentioned that the actor got cast in another show anyway.
