Don't know details just happened to catch a headline buzzing by that when AMC opens again it'll be 15 cent tickets.
Meh only 100 locations and old as fuck movies. Although if you live near one of the ones opening any of these are well worth the pennies on the big screen.

First one was a tech demo for CGI a decade ahead of its time. From all reports Cameron is not trying to repeat that plus theaters would not be in a position next year to foot the bill for upgrades anyways, so this will have to stand on the merits of its own story.

"Dances with Communist Hippie GreenPeace Blue Wolves in Space" can go fuck themselves. He was ahead of his time in the tech space but much like Star Wars, he merely amalgamated previous cultural threads of self-hate/natives-are-better/the "pressure" of the modern world driving people to seek a simpler life/"EEEVVVILLL" capitalism.
Best version of this was The Last Samurai.
People ate it up back then. Who knows? James Cameron makes great movies, even if I hate his politics. Maybe it will either be the ruling zeitgeist, we will all be tired of it, or it will be banned after the coming civil war, for either being too far Left or not Left enough, depending on who wins.

I hate when people compare this movie to Dances with Wolves. That was a wonderful movie showing the decline and desperation of a people to cling on to the old life in defiance of the on coming future. "White men" were not treated as all encompassing evil (even if there were evil white men in the movie). Avatar was just white man / capitalism bashing.
