Won't work. Thanos controls the Space and Reality stones, which gives him power over the teleportation shit which nullifies the effects of the portal that would cut anything off. It's not stated directly, but how Thanos handles everything else, another solution is required. If Mantis was mind fucking him, maybe, but is she even in Endgame? Did she get dusted? I don't even remember what happened to her after Starlord fucked everything up.

Steve Rogers has had a decent arc towards becoming more jaded/grounded. CA1: Optimistic and unwavering patriotism CA2: After seeing Nazis had basically co-oped the government in secret after WW2, starts to become more jaded and begins to lose faith in government CA3: Feels like Government is abandoning the ideals he believe embodies America and is preventing him from protecting America/The World (Secovia Accords), decides to make his own course

I was just joking about Wong. I don't expect to see more than a couple minutes of him the whole movie. Most of it, I presume, at Tony's wedding.
