Finally watched it, not great not terrible, the time travel trope was dumb though not badly executed.

Picking up the shield like that should have shattered every bone in her hand.

Still didnt make any sense why no gauntlet Thanos was more powerful than every Avenger + Captain SJW.

Thanos in Infinity War had no weapon or armor. I know this is comic book nerd shit and they should have been stated in some exposition because it is confusing and not well explained, but the directors did intentionally have him remove his weapons and armor to communicate his power loss. They discussed the symbolism of it off screen (I think they should had a least a line dump though on how profound it was). I think it was some religious belief in proving a kind of fate in him collecting the stones (Like the morons that reach into snake pits to prove god will protect them). It was supposed to show the "Universe" needed this and wouldn't allow him to be killed during his "great task", and to prove that he exposed himself and only relied on the power of the stones (Again, like people "proving" gods love by exposing themselves to danger and relying on 'god' to protect them)

"He has a more casual approach in this film and it's very philosophical for him. It's part of his character definition. It's a spiritual journey for him to collect the [Infinity] Stones and one with which he does not need armor. Once he starts acquiring the Stones he doesn't require armor the same way he did when he was a warlord. It's a very symbolic costume,"

As for the strength difference. That weapon and armor are most likely Uru. I made a post about the 'tier' list of Marvel materials and in effect Thanos's weapon and armor were probably even stronger than Mjolnir in terms of power. They tried to show this with how his glaive broke Captain America's shield, wanting to show how it could do what even Mjolnir wasn't able to do. I'm not sure if it was communicated well enough though, especially because with Super Heroes people tend to dismiss their weapons as sources of power (And the movies do step on their dicks by literally making that a point of the films, like with Iron Man wanting to prove he was Iron Man without his suits).

The directors did discuss this outside of the movie, so it was what they were going for. But it probably wasn't clear on screen unless you were a big comic book nerd and knew about the power of the weapons/armors in universe.

"Clearly Thanos is a thousand-year-old character who has fought everyone in the universe and is the greatest: He's the Genghis Khan of the universe, so he would have the greatest weapon," Russo said. "He knows of Eitri, he's been to Eitri to have his glove created. Did he have them create his blade as well? Potentially. But it's interesting that it could destroy the shield."

TLDR: Thanos's sword was probably right under Stormbreaker in terms of strength. It was more powerful than Mjolnir and his armor was the same material/quality, those two things made him massively stronger than without them.
