my point is that they should be friends that trust each other and fight supervillians.... like heros do. I want my sons to grow up thinking superman is a goddamn hero.

To an extent they are both vigilantes. There are numerous plausible story scenarios for them to butt heads. One is not going to kill the other, at the end of the day you know they are going to unite for great justice!

Still waiting on all of your response(s) on how Faora could get knocked out by low grade military tech. You don't want to respond to that for a reason.
They were still weak from not adapting to earth's sun and capitalizing on their powers? Dunno. The power acquisition in MoS was a little inconsistent.

Ok, I'll give it a shot since you're asking. Faora got knocked out because until about 10 minutes earlier she had been inside her ship which had Kryptonian atmosphere, which was proven to weaken Superman substantially just from a short exposure. Upon exiting the ship she was still in her "environment suit" and hadn't had time to fully absorb Earth's atmosphere and solar radiation like Clark had been doing for 30'ish years. Therefore, she was nowhere near as resilient as he was. The fact that they were soldiers, without morals no less (which was pointed out at a couple of points in the movie), gave them a distinct advantage over Clark in terms of combat expertise and tactics, but his powers were still enough to keep him in the fight. Only when Zod throws off his suit at the end, and delivers the awesome "Where did you train, on a farm?" line is he truly beginning to use the full extent of the powers granted a Kryptonian on Earth. If, as someone mentioned earlier, they had simply spent a week on a beach first, they would have wiped the floor with Superman easily.

This thread is great. But not for any of the reasons anyone reading the title would expect.

When was this a question? I never saw it.

And Vvoid just answered it well enough for the "logic" established in MoS.

Yay, the President of the Superman Fanclub makes an appearance.

Let me get this straight, Zod absorbed 30 years of radiation in the 20 minutes after Faora was knocked out?

Does not compute.

Lyrical is thread shitting Tanoomba style.
Wrong, I just refuse to join with the rest of you in the Uni-Mind. I'm not giving up my individuality to join the hive. Mainly because you are retards (if for Superman) and I don't want to go around thinking dee dee dee all the time.

Bullshit answer. You guys are just throwing any argument against the wall, to see if it sticks.

That one kind of half stuck to the wall for a few seconds, and then fell onto the floor.

Oh my answer is a shit script and a shit director ruining a franchise before it gets off the ground. The movie is poor. There is no reason besides "cool" for shit to happen. Its the right answer. The context is irrelevant unless stated by the movie.

Lyrical. Stop being a scumbag. The answer to your question is metatextual.

For gods sake the best movie goyer wrote is blade 2 (besides nolans batman) and snyder was a damn zombie remake.

David S. Goyer - IMDb

Schlocky writer got it right with one director

The director is a "visionary" who made CGI abs and sped up/ slowed down 300 faggots and made a few memes

I knew that anything I said wouldn't be accepted by you, and even though I generally try to be polite to you, you just can't help yourself can you?

Ok, for the sake of debate instead of just throwing up my hands and admitting it is pointless to try, maybe it doesn't take 30 years to reach maximum potential. Maybe it takes an hour. Or thirty minutes, who knows? Hell, maybe it takes thirty seconds, because Faora was in her suit the entire time, and as soon as Zod threw his off he was almost Clark's equal. Maybe if Faora had just taken her damn suit off she would have shrugged off that Maverick missile (which is a LOT more powerful than an RPG) like it was nothing.

I'm not sure where your hatred of me actually comes from, to be honest. Plenty of people have said a lot worse than I ever have, and except for the Tanoomba part I don't even know what I've ever said to you that was anywhere close to what you've said to half a dozen people just in the past day, but if I'm the easy target for you, then go ahead I guess. Just because I admit that I enjoy a good Superman story, and dislike the direction the comic book Batman has gone the past few decades (the movies were great I felt), does that make me an automatic adversary for you? I actually try to remain civil to just about everyone, including you, and all you've done is shit on me repeatedly. Why? Are you that upset that someone doesn't revere Batman above all others? If so, you've got a lot of shitting to get to, based on this thread.

With how irrational and illogical Lyrical is in this thread (and the weight lifting thread, for that matter), makes me wonder about all the other shit he says that we take at face value because zomg Lyrical MBA smart man.

Just so you realize Lyrical, you completely ignored the actual thrust of his argument, and picked out a strawman to rail against. Not that I'd expect you to rationally debate when you're claiming batman could realistically have a chance against a kryptonian, but this was really lame.
