I'm less suspicious of a man with few friends than I am a woman. They are more social. A woman without friends is exceptional and I'd want to know why she can't or won't maintain friendships.

when I split with my kid's mother my buddy's wife, who never liked my ex, told me I wasn't allowed to date women without other female friends and it really comes down to more than anything, when they bitch about you to their friends and the little stuff you do as a guy and the friends will usually have your back unless you're a piece of shit.

Spending less time, energy, and attention on maintaining friendships is like being a man (it's a triat predominately found among men). Suicide rates due to social isolation among men aged 40+begin ticking upwards for this reason.
Having alone time away from friends is different than being alone because you don't have any friends. A woman that spends time alone because she does not have friends is more like a man.
