Since you're all still in stunned admiration of my glorious anodized wheels, I present my first century of the season:

I rode with two buddies and pulled pretty much the entire way. Pace would have been a bit quicker, but one of my buds bonked around the 85 mile mark and started cramping up to boot. I felt terrible for him, he couldn't even stand up his legs were so tight. He finished the ride though, and bought lunch/beers afterwards. Solid day.

You're getting there pretty quick, Ao. Just look at the average speed. You guys are going pretty damn fast for a century. Granted, I don't know what kind of hills / mountains you have in the areas. =P

Like a carpenter's dream.... flat as fuck. If I hadn't stopped at a bar at the mile 80 checkpoint, I'd have finished a lot quicker.

What app is that?

And the other assholes on here should add me. Kuriin/Seventh, I'm looking at you.

FTFY.

I'm guessing you are heavier than 7th is or maybe just not a very aero position on the bike? Your average watts are very similar.
I'm sure I'm not aero, it's also my commuter bike (full fenders, front rack, Viscacha bag on back and tangle bag on it), so it was heavier and also totally less streamlined. While I'll keep the seat and frame bag, I gotta remove the front rack and fenders next time :|

Anyone have any recommendations for headphones?

I was happily using some Sennheiser cx400's, but the left headphone no longer works.

I've tried using my Klipsch s4's but because they stick out of the ear so much further than the Sennheisers, I hear tons of wind with them and can actually feel the wind pulling on them.

I was looking at picking up some over ear buds, specifically these. After trying my s4's, I've become really conscious of the wind noise that anything that sticks too far out of the ear will cause. Any recommendations?

*Edit* Looks like the i means apple, and they're not fully compatible with android, which is a problem.

Also my bike, since it's the bike thread.

I totally get the desire for some ear buds and music while biking, but I just don't want to lose the awareness of my surroundings...

I've tried riding with music but I end up not hearing traffic and find myself in some not so good positions. I do like my bluebud x sports quite a bit tho.

ya, second what Famm said. The guys I ride with always have a music going but i felt weird and unsafe about it. Last three weeks I've been riding with just the right bud in and I am enjoying it a lot. Even with a good amount of volume going I can still hear cars well before they are near me and get over, but I consciously ride only on wide roads out here in SoCal cause everyone is a fucking moron and drives like shit.

Amazon.com : Outdoor Tech OT1301 Buckshot - Super-Portable Rugged Water-Resistant Wireless Bluetooth Speaker (Black) : Outdoor Tech Buckshot : MP3 Players Accessories

Friend picked up one of these from a Dirtfest vendor last weekend. No report yet on how well it works. Obviously its kind of a faux pas for serious road or trail riding but there's times when I'd consider it fun to have. Bluetooth speaker that also acts as a portable charging station, straps onto the handlebars similarly to a light with those gasket things.

So, on my morning commute some fuckwit ploughed into me on his own bike. I was cycling uphill on the bike path and he came hooning downhill around a blind bend flat out and went straight into me. My front wheel is a possible save, but realistically I was considering sticking some slightly better wheels on anyway at some point so may just do that. The worry is the ding in the frame (see picture). It's an alu frame and it's not really creased, just dented so I'm leaning towards just riding it and keeping an eye on it, it's not like it's a mountain bike taking impacts regularly (I hope). The only saving grace was he hurt himself much more than I was, I'm basically just scuffed and bruised, he may have dislocated his shoulder, wanker. Bike is 2 weeks old /sigh

That looks to me like a trashed frame, aluminum doesn't like being stressed. If that was steel, I'd say it's still rideable but with Alu I wouldn't risk it.

I'm lucky enough to live minutes away from over 5sq miles of park so traffic isn't a big issue for me. I ended up ordering some Audio Technica ATH-CKP500's.

Yea I have about a 4 mile ride on the road to get to the lake where I ride on the park trails (and on the road some, but it's a bicycle path, the speed limit is 20 so the cars don't really pass you, and the bikes have the right of way) only. So I have my headphones in but don't turn on music until I get to the lake. Seems like a good compromise.
