Just ordered a few new bits for my Trance, aFloat X CTDrear shock, and a 160mmPike RCT3fork. Kind of weird shelling out $800 to go from a Fox to a RockShox fork, but every review I've read comparing the two has the Pike coming out on top, and it's a bit cheaper.

Now the agonizing wait for parts begins, arrrgh.

Yeah it's multipurpose. Ride to the zoo, park the bikes, take the stroller with you for walking.

The white's mine.

I took the bike over to the frame repair place today for a proper look over by a professional (ie not me). Wheel is a write-off, he reckoned he could straighten it no problem but it would be so weak he couldn't recommend doing so. Probably going to throw a set of Kinesis Crosslight CXdisc wheels on as they're significantly lighter than the stock ones and it seems a waste to buy another new stock wheel as I was going to upgrade them soon anyway.

The frame he personally would ride as hes skint so would risk it and keep an eye on it, but the guy who actually makes their frames and has done so for 30 years was adamant it was fucked, he said if I was desperate I could try it but he couldn't in good conscience tell me it was OK to ride and he would never ride it himself. So, as I'm not poor it's a new frame also.

Insurance covers me if it's stolen but not for accidental damage, bugger. Bike builder recommended a Kinesis crosslight frame and they do look kinda nice. ?320 fitted for the FiveT, no fork and ?600 fitted for the Pro6, includes Carbon fork, which looks rather sexy in green, LBS I bought the bike from can do me a direct Cannondale replacement for ?400 fitted. So basically I'm out between about ?550 and ?850 depending upon frame, but will probably go with the Cannondale as it's comfortable and was one of the reasons I picked the bike in the first place.

So much for the new TV I had my eye on

Wheels ordered, should be here Friday, and the bike is at the LBS and they expect new frame early next week, so hopefully be up and running by end of next week, they promised to do it the day the frae arrives as I'd bought the bike from then, and loads of other stuff also. May alter my route to avoid the downhill blind bend in future.

so drinking at a bar near river city bicycles before soccer game = I go buy a garmin 510. Wondering if I should keep it or not, I don't really need it.

I feel like the Garmins are for those who do longer rides. Since most of my rides were <20 miles I felt my phone with a GPS/HRM was sufficient and saved me a few hundred bucks.

If I ever got into doing more regular 30+ mile rides I would feel the cost is better justified.

I'm thinking of getting one, so I'd keep it. Use it as a reason to start doing longer rides
