Pretty good season but it's pretty fucking annoying that they paint chuck as a master strategist (and he mostly is) but he sometimes misses/does the dumbest shit. Needing blackjack to tell him that this fucking casino shit is going to all go back on his father and him? Just blatantly obvious and something his character would have thought of instantly. Going in on this drink company? Axe is going to bury that shit and sink him and his father at the same time.

It's a good show but sometimes the sloppy character writing on chucks side is just bad, really bad.

Pretty sure Chuck is counting on it. He even mentioned setting himself up in a "trap" to Sacker.

Kind of a boring episode. But a lot of lead in to some big shit about to go down.

I think that Axe is going to take it hard by making a rash decision with whatever investment Chuck's dad is involved in. Axe is going to rely too much on Taylor's analysis and see something that isn't there. Like she assumes because Chuck's office doesn't have leverage than they don't have anything while not understanding that any legal case just wants "more." Simultaneously totally ignoring that the other guy just got put behind bars by underestimating Chuck.

Chuck's life is realigning and Axe's is falling apart. Lara is going to find out that he deleted all of the voicemails.

I thought he was just using Taylor's analysis to justify the short because he had inside information? Taylor already knew the analysis was bogus and was just being used for a paper trail. That's why she wanted to get a read on the prosecutor to see if they actually had anything before she cosigned that bullshit.

Chuck is banking on Axe torpedoing the Ice Juice thing. It's a trap!

Taylor is going to get redpilled hard in terms of the morality thing she goes on about. Being sent up to Head of Research and baited by Mafee into that sweet apartment? I think its Axe fattening her up to be the fallperson (lol) for insider trading.

This episode saw Axe lose the companionship of the Pizza Guy and his wife. Its isolating him and he's going to push away others with this rash stuff. Something like that anyway.

Guaranteed Ice Juice is a trap.

Ice juice is only a trap if Axe does something illegal to torpedo it. I didn't catch exactly what he said but I think it was some version of "gonna run the value up and act like we're buying it to drive demand then dump it" ?

Well, with all the talk about knowing when to counter attack after Chuck found out Axe bought his books. Pretty sure this is the counterattack. Something to catch Axe doing something illegal or make him lose money which drives him mad because of his ego.

But that's all done using insider knowledge. Isn't that the illegal part?

What insider knowledge regarding ice juice?

This is the part that really spells it out. The Ice Juice play is some kind of trap as it was designed to anticipate that Axe would come and attack it. Opening himself up for attack.

Not sure how its going to happen but the thing really going on is that Axe is jumping at it without spending a single second researching it because he hopes it will hurt Chuck. Who he feels is responsible for everything.

Maybe, but I seem to remember when Chuck was talking with his dad about the ice juice thing, that it wasn't in regards to Axe at all but rather the ethics of using his blind trust in that way.

And how would Chuck know Axe will find out about ice juice?

And how would Chuck know Axe will do something illegal to submarine ice juice?

And how would Chuck know even if Axe does something illegal to submarine ice juice, that he will be in a position to find out about it?

And how would Check know even if Axe does something illegal to submarine ice juice and he is in a position to find out about it, that he'd be able to prove it with admissible evidence?

Guess we'll need to watch the finale bro! This show has been pretty good about things making sense so far.

I mean how would Chuck be in a position to get any testimony from anybody close to Axe at all right now? He'd have to turn Wags, or the guy giving them Klaxon (who seems like a hardened criminal) or Taylor. I guess you could see a spectacular reversal with Taylor but so far she seems team Axe fuck yea.

Or Axe's NSA-looking guy I guess. That guy is probably more scary than anybody on the show.

Taylor is the one going on and on about the morality of stock trading. My money is on her having an SJW non-binary shit fit. Maybe Lara finding out Axe deleted all the voicemails.

I don't think Lara actually knows anything about Axe's business.

And Taylor pretty explicitly rejected cooperation with the po-po. Like I said they can always write in a reversal but it's not too plausible.

It's an ipo , his fund can run up the value at launch then sell off and short all the way down. The lemmings will follow crushing the price.

In order to do that he has to take over 10% though and disclose which opens him up on price manipulation... which of course chuck would have a hard time going after since his trust seems to have taken an ownership stake pre-ipo. I.e. Severe conflict of interest

The show is setting it up like when chuck played his father earlier to get at axe's friends but his ass would be on the line too the second his father gets the trust involved (the show may or may or gloss over this)

I expect this year to end on a similar note to either last season with axe melting down or mid season this year when he freaked on them at the social club.

For a relatively slow season I'm looking forward to how this plays out

I saw the Ice Juice thing a little differently. Chuck had been lamenting how he could not compete with Axe because of the influence his wealth afforded him. I believe he thinks making gazillions on the IPO will allow him to stand on the same ground as Axe and finally crush him. I also believe that season two has been about Chuck ascending and Axe taking it hard on many occasions (suicide, casino, Lara etc). I believe Ice Juice is where the worm turns and Axe gets to ride high for the finale.

What? Chuck's life was in the shitter the vast majority of this season until like...the past two episodes.
