Anyone else having visual issues with 7900 series cards? I'm getting horrid texture popping and in certain places it just doesn't load the high quality textures at all and looks terrible. When it's working right it's absolutely gorgeous though.

Running 13.1 drivers+7970 at 2560x1600 with everything up to the max settings.

I'm on what I assume is the last big encounter of the game, when you get...
control of the Songbird
and it's really fucking hard :/

Initial impressions for me are very high. 9.5/10ish.

Visuals are amazing. So much symbolism. Its crazy. Definitely something that needs to be experienced, and not even being told would work.

A few gameplay elements are weak.
Auto save. Hate this. Especially with a death penalty. Punishing you for messing around.

Player is encouraged to ignore/completely act against pacing. Looking for secrets, searching trash cans and shit. BAD move. It really takes you out of the game, when you are "trying to blend in". and are ferreting around in every fucking purse, desk, trashcan, etc for cash, when friendlies are standing right there. that whole thing should have been rethought. It also kills pacing, as you break off, and do this constant searching like a 5yr old with ADD. Or you are giving a signal to run, and again, you are searching to make sure you didnt miss anything. Again, the autosave only really forcing to you be SURE you are done with an area before moving on.

Invisible walls.
Found more then a few. And worse, found places I thought I could jump, but couldn't (teleported back to jumping spot), then later came across places I could, but had stopped looking at, because I couldn't in similar areas earlier. Its not all that surprising given the "open" environment. I just wish it was more consistent.

Giant hallway. So far, the entire game has been 1 giant hallway.

The actual feel of combat is much much better then BS1. Pretty smooth and good so far.

(playing on hard btw)

Earlier complaint about Booker being a bit too chill about all the crazy shit is kindof right. the fully silent protag in BS1 kindof worked better because of it.

Just got a 3rd weapon now and... forced me to drop one. does this change or only 2 at a time the whole game? also, hate this too.

Also, everyone should rewatch, Master of the World before or after playing.

I definitely agree with the pacing comment. There should be way, way fewer objects to search with more stuff in them. A lot of games have this problem (Skyrim) and it's really stupid.

Those are pretty old drivers. I got 13.3 beta3 drivers for the Tomb Raider fixes, and they are working fine with Bioshock too.

Beat it in 13 hours on hard and that was checking every desk and got all the cyphers etc. Little sad I can't replay it with all the vigors/upgrades. Look forward to the DLC.

No spoilers but I saw the plot twist coming as soon as I got the card about 77.

I agree with pacing as well. But the two weapon thing doesn't bother me. I'm on 1999 mode and proliferating crows feels almost to easy.

I'm at the last fight and the only bugs I've encountered have been getting hit through walls a couple of times.

I only ran into like 3 bugs. One was a graphical glitch(seemed to be with the anisotropic filtering stuff) at the beginning, and the others involved rails/pathing arrow. Pretty solid I'd say.

Well that and random SUPER slowdowns/stutter. Nvidia just released a driver that increases performance by like 41% so that should fix that.

Just finished it, still processing things in my mind.

Only encountered one bug where I managed to get stuck in a door that closed behind me and I couldnt move.

The only glitch I've run into was at the start of the Good Time Club. I started the guys monologue right before you enter the show room and left to go check out the vendor. Well, the doors locked and I couldn't get inside again to actually start the event.

Had to restarted the chapter since the autosave saved right after the doors locked (wtb manual saves

), but thankfully that was the start of the chapter so nothing of value was lost.

It's refreshing to see a game actually you know...work at launch.

Yeah I had a few events not start(2 or 3) as well. Just had to run back and forth to trigger whatever it was I apparently missed. Forgot about those.

I updated the driver to the beta, same deal. It's kind of wrecking the experience for me :/ some of the signs that have text are basically unreadable unless I move to specific angles and wait for them to pop in.

man, watched the ending twice and it's still fucking powerful.
Holy shit yes, and also, I hope you watched the credits ALL the way through!

I just finished this game moments ago. I don't know about some of you but I was not expecting that twist AT ALL.

Fantastic ending, and I cannot wait for the DLC to come out. I may actually purchase the DLC in advance. The first and only time I would ever do this.

I hope to God (No pun intended) Levine is working on the next.
