They're probably struggling to figure out how to meet new diversity quotas when they already cast the blackest man to ever live 30 years ago. Can't get any blacker than Snipes, unless you cast a literal black hole.

Hopefully they take too long and age Ali out of the role.

I think the main reason they are having issues is they are trying to set up Midnight Sons and that probably is the reason for the writer and director changes.
