How much of that is the memory leak bug where they don't execute their specials, though? Even without that, for me so many of the boss fights are more about guessing right on the twitch play than actually knowing the reads and attacks. There are also a shit ton more one hit kills on the bosses in this game than pretty much all previous Souls games combined. The RNG on attack patterns and the various points where flasks stop dropping and you have to sit through load screens to restock are why I took a break from this to play DS2 over again. Well, that and helping people in coop to grind souls is exponentially more fun than just plowing and resetting hall trash. I think if the MP actually worked with a shit I might warm up to this game more, but the lack of variety would still be an issue.

Memory leak was fixed in the patch. Also, it only happened when you let the PS4 go into rest mode while the game was running, which is something I personally never do and I can't imagine very many other people did either (unless they did it intentionally after hearing about how the bug worked).

You don't close the game you're playing before you put it into rest mode though? That's the part that's weird to me.

I was only playing bloodborne at the time, so I would just suspend it and when I turned on my ps4 the game was instantly open and right where I was, no loading or anything. It's a nice feature

I just saw it as a way to charge my controller without connecting it to my phone's charger or leaving the entire console running.

I don't know, maybe I just expect it to work poorly because I'm so used to how unreliable suspend and resume is for PCs.

It worked fine, from just had some shifty code. Their fix was a hack anyways as it just disconnects you from the server

No effect to what I was talking about. He used all the same attacks, he just died so quick and did so much less relative damage that he fight was trivial

The biggest change in boss fights between BB and the souls games is the number of heals you get to use. With runes, you can easily have over 20 heals available, which is way more than any of the other games. As long as the boss doesn't one shot you, there is a lot more room for mistakes, which makes the fights overall significantly easier.

I would agree that there are some Souls fights that are harder than anything in the main part of Bloodborne. Once you get deep into chalice dungeons though, the bosses there are vastly harder than anything else From has ever made.

It took me dozens of attempts on Defiled Amygdala before I was able to kill it. I'm looking forward to the Queen.

My hardest was the defiled hellhound guy. I spent so long on that fight. Nothing else was even close.

it works fine on ps4, i am suspicious too about sleep mode due to PC but i use it all the time on GTA5, which is a lifesaver since the load times on that game are so long. its pretty awesome turning on your PS4 and being right in the game in under 5 secs

I just rolled into whatever direction he was biting from and charge attacked his face with Ludwigs. That was probably the easiest boss in the game for me, no lie. I did die a couple times before I saw his entire moveset, but on the kill attempt I didn't even take any damage.

Well, I think everyone would say that - basically every attack it has besides the AE is a one shot. And the AE isn't that wide.

Hah, fair enough. Though obviously not everyone would say it's the easiest boss in the game for them (clearly).

At like 35-40 vit with the 10% clockwise rune none of the wolf's attacks one-shot anymore. Not even the charge.

Finally finished this off last night, been casually working my way through it over the last couple weeks. It was damn near perfect from start to finish right up until the last two zones i'd say, great game up until that point. Nightmare frontier and Nightmare of Mensis felt like a slog, not enjoyable in the least not to mention I had to play them in offline mode cause if I didn't as soon as I entered the zone it was non-stop invasions.

Micolash especiallly was a disappointment, I think I spent 25 minutes on him and didn't use one blood vial the entire fight. I had to google where to go to find the hole in the floor for the last phase because I couldn't find the fucking thing.

I played through almost entirely spoiler free through, unless I was lost and didn't know where to go and ended the game with the 'bad'? ending I guess, 50% trophies. Roughly how much work is it to platinum from here in NG+?

I got 80% just by beating it and reverting to prior saves via cloud and beating it two more times for all three endings. The only trophy that really takes an appreciable amount of time is the one that requires you to beat like 5 chalice dungeons and defeat some boss there. Never did that one.
