if you've never watched his tv show Da Ali G Show catch up on that, borat is a recurring character. There are like 2-3 seasons on UK and 2 seasons on HBO
i do find it ironic that the characters started as mocking British white teenagers who pretend to be black but over the years the characters were criticized by leftists for doing negative stereotypes of minorities, and now has come full circle and is criticized by conservatives for punching down at well meaning rural folk. I think if you manage to piss everyone off, you are probably doing ok

The real problem right now is that edgy comedians in every era pushed the bounds of the social zeitgeist and right now everything is political so it all funnels back into politics and makes them all seem the same. I think Patton Oswalt would tell me that I am a all that is wrong in this country; but his comedy pre 2012 is still some of my absolute favorite even when it was poking hard at conservatives. After Obama got into office? His specials stopped being about all sorts of edge and became just about politics and denigrating people that didn't agree with him. It just isn't funny.

Well, it isnt funny to you, plenty of people seem to like him. Theres so much comedy content out there now with all these fuckers doing podcasts, I dont see how you can lump it all together like that.
The real problem is that everyone stopped looking outward for answers and instead just looked for validation.
