Not sure why the hate, but it's always fashionable on the intarweb to say what comes next is not as good as the original. So far this is what I would expect from a BL game, and I'm having fun. Glad to have something to break my habit of non-stop dark souls 2
BL2 was so good people just had crazy expectations I think. I'm not fond of the new ground pound mechanic and I never use it....that's the main thin I'm not fond of. I also don't like Oz kits.

Game itself though is funny, humor is the same forced humor that has been in all BL's games. I dunno, I like it. Not as much as BL2 but probably better than BL1.

Tons of people had the same reactions to BL2 as they're having to this. It's just a matter of sampling and memories I guess.

You guys are right, this is a great game. Never before have I been able to go to bed at something approaching an "appropriate" time, but pre-sequel has helped me achieve that! It's got the perfect amount of Borderlands to make me play each night mixed with the perfect amount of terrible to make me quit the game at a time that's perfect for going to bed.

I have problems with pacing and quick travel. I keep getting to a point where I'm overloaded with guns that I want to take back to the donation box but have no easy quick travel points to do so.

I also am.having a devil of a time determining whether a gun is an upgrade or not since there are so many variables plus things like sub type (proton pack vs beams for lasers, chain gun vs rifle for assault rifles etc) that I'm stuck vascilating.

I'm okay with you not liking the game but people can like the game if you don't. It's okay. Really.

I'm coming up on the end. Overall it is clearly the weakest of the three. IMO no one will probably argue that fact. But it is still Borderlands so it is still decent. I feel like the jumping addition was a nice try but an ultimate miss. I feel adding this amount of mobility just makes the level design either restricted or not matter. Z axis is basically a thing of the past since you just need to jump on a few boxes and now you're at the top platform and things like that. Just not a huge fan.

The game is mostly predicated on the storyline missions. They are, by far, the best missions in the game. I can't recall a single side-story mission where I went into a smaller zone to do some stuff then came out the other end with loot. Most side missions are "Go into the giant open zone, do X here, then Y here, then Z here and you're done." They are fairly bland and unimaginative. BL2 had it's fair share of these as well but it also sprinkled in very well thought out side missions. I haven't really encountered them here.

I, like everyone else, play Claptrap. I like the design of the hero very much. Possibly the most fun hero I've played in Borderlands but I admit I have only played 3 (Roland in BL1, Roland-again-guy in BL2, Mechromancer in BL2) so my opinion may be weighted. I like that he doesn't specialize in a single gun. I need to have basically every weapon in my inventory and switch my primary with whatever weapon comes up next on the list to use. It adds a certain amount of diversity but sometimes adds a frustrating amount of randomness. Like if I get shotguns I am an unstoppable killing machine. If I get sniper rifles ... not so much. But I suppose that is the point of the hero. His action skill follows a similar suit where sometimes it will pick the jackpot and wipe the screen and other times I'll get on my faggot bouncing duck.

So like I said. Worse of the three but doesn't deserve all the hate I feel it is getting in the thread.

I discovered a moonstone exploit in the game while trying to farm vending machines for better things to buy. If you create a new character, but exit back to the main menu and select another character it will give you the bonus for having a BL1 and BL2 save again. So you can farm a blue pistol and shotgun plus 30 moonstones every time. The weapons can't be used in the grinder though.

Awesome testing this game had... if you're doing the To Arms quest at the same time as Zapped, the auto-donate at the box will give away quest weapon for Zapped, making Zapped impossible to complete.

"Encounters a bug. Complains testing for whole game is bad."

I feel this is a pretty good review and I feel the same for the most part...though I'm on the borderline of if I liked the 1st better than this one or not.

Your analogy would work if;

I had mocked you for not liking the game, which I didn't

or

If pointing out a single bug you had and there by declaring the QC for the whole game was garbage wasn't retarded.

Bah hit my first "Quit the game to advance" bug. Spoiler below so no one hits it as well. Will keep most storyline stuff out but still will have locations/characters.

Towards the end of the game after going through the Veins of Helios for a while you encounter a fast-travel to have Jack meet up with you. I, stupidly, thought this was a 2way fast travel. Since there is really no indication ever if a fast travel is 1way or 2way that I can easily see. So I went to Cardonia to grind some gear. Was pissed to see the fastest way to get back was at the very start of the Helios area. So I footed it over there (with all the jump areas and shit took like 10-15 minutes) only to find that the event to open the big door to get back to where I needed to go hadn't respawned so I was stuck. So now I have to exit and, probably, do it all over again.

tldr; Fuck 1way fast travel stations. They shouldn't even exist. Ran into the same shit in BL2 at the end of that giant jailbreak mission for Roland

Do you mean the Fast Travel point call Tycho's Ribs or the one right after called Eleseer that is at the last boss area? Also you should be able to join a matchmaking game of someone on the same quest as you and follow them through it to get your progress moved forward.

After playing a ton this weekend, I'm at, what appears to be, the final area and have some thoughts on my overall experience.
First, the beginning portion of the game (I'd say the first 1/3) is really slow, especially compared to the Helios areas. Took me a while to get interested in the game at all. That said, once I was able to get to Helios the game really took off and has been great fun.
A couple of things I noticed during play which are quite annoying: sometimes item drops fall through the world or through objects and are unreachable, and there are quite a few places where I got stuck on the world geometry. Other than that, it ended up better than it started and while I spent thousands of hours on the previous games, i dont know if this one has that kind of longevity. But I dont feel like i wasted my money.

Nisha as expected is a beast, need to try the others but Nisha is a combo of Gunzerker and Mechromancer at end game, get a high accuracy non elemental pistol so you can stay back, pop that skill, everything dies. You essentially get unlimited magazine size and when it runs out you explode anyone that is still alive.
Borderlands The Pre-Sequel! Skill Tree Planner - jamesdaily.com

Hell's Comin' With Me! 5/5 After reloading or reaching your maximum clip via Pickpocket, for a short duration your gun has a chance to fire twice. (+9% per level) is key, with a stat boost you can get it to 9/5(maybe higher) but it is at 90% chance to shoot twice.

Going to bulk up Gladiator next.

I don't see what part of the mechromancer is in Nisha's skill tree. Unless you're referring to the weak ricochet during Showdown?

What made the mechromancer so strong was the ricochet off missed shots, blood soaked shields, and anarchy. Just get in people's faces and unload your shotgun anywhere around them. Fun shit. It's probably what's ultimately souring me on this game. Stand and shoot or cover and shoot is a really boring mechanic. Much more fun to get in their faces and unload clips. Lilith could do it in BL1 and Gaige in BL2. The only class in this game that has the throughput to support run and gun playstyle is claptrap. It's a shame he doesn't have much else to support the damage side of that playstyle.

Granted my Nisha is still low level so I'm not sure how it would work at higher tiers but it feels like you're leaving a ton of damage on the table by not taking Bona Fide Grit since that basically means you'll be doing +35% damage the entire time during Showdown. I also wonder if taking Saddle Up instead of Ruthless would be a good call for even more damage capabilities.

Saddle up and ruthless is interchangeable, really the bread and butter of this class is not needing to aim down sights+enjoy full accuracy, when everything is level 50+ and you have epic class mod(assuming they work like BL2) something like this will be used:

Borderlands The Pre-Sequel! Skill Tree Planner - jamesdaily.comBut really it depends on your weapons/gear. You could make a build entirely around magnificent six, get yourself a Jacobs +dmg mod with a 6-10 round mag and increase reload speed so it is almost nonexistent and enjoy that insane damage. I have yet to find a great Jacobs but that is what I would try next.

I will say I moved from Claptrap to Nisha recently and she fits my playstyle much, much better than Claptrap. Or she is just outright better -- which is also probable. Her action skill is deadly.
