I hear you Khalid, and I don't buy into conspiracy theories in the slightest. I 100% agree with what fanaskin said, and add that when something horrifying happens, some humans seek to find control in the chaos, which can be through creating a conspiracy. It was more to the point of looking for a motive, which may or may not be just one crazy dude going rogue, with or without a anti-government / alien / allah / jehovah / christ/ etc / component.

I'm sure it is, I'm just pointing out, we don't know the facts. It could be any numbers of things. It is probably some terrorist shitbird doing terrorist shitbird stuff, granted.
I don't really care whether the President called the act terrorism or not, but there's really nothing plausible to call this except terrorism. Detonating an IED in a civilian area is terrorism no matter the reason it was done.

Seems like a lone wolf at this point. Any terror group most likely would of took credit by now. Even shittier if this was done by our own. Our fucking culture here:-(
If it is our own, we need to bomb the south.

I'm just hoping this will wake congress up enough that they can pass some serious bomb control legislation so this doesn't happen again. Maybe we should also post "Bomb free zone" signs around the Marathon next year?

I bet some of these shitty terrorist groups are debating about taking credit right now, even if they had no part in it. To some extent it is probably 'good pr' in their circles. I expect there finishing up a draft to send over to Al Jazeera soon

Bombs arent the problem, trash cans are. If they have nowhere to plant the bombs, what are they going to do?

What we need is trash can legislation. Now I'm willing to compromise on a size. But I think a 5 gallon trashcan oughta be enough for anyone. It should also be made out of translucent plastic, be explosion proof and have a bomb lock on it. Basically a tiny slot for you to jam your garbage in, instead of a big hole on the top. Also, they should be registered.

Terrorism=the new "Natural" in that it encompasses way to much.

I seriously doubt a single individual could have planted four separate incendiary devices on his own during the race without being noticed.

Did Bin Laden come out and claim responsibility for 9/11 right away? No.

What is an "act of terror"? (assuming there is some fancy legalese... or are we being individually semantic)

Was Sandy Hook an "act of terror"?

Motherfuckers:"Systematic use of violence to create a general climate of fear in a population and thereby to bring about a particular political objective."

Now, its hard to imagine this act not fitting that definition somehow, but its possible it wasn't, of course we are all still waiting for details.

We called that "war" for 10,000 years prior to 1870s.

No jackass, war has always been armed conflict between the forces of two nations. Not an isolated act(s) of violence aimed to create paranoia and unease in an otherwise peaceful civilian populace. War is about resource control generally, including land or territory, not political objectives.

By that definition it can't be considered terrorism until whoever is responsible expresses the "particular political objective" they with to bring about. It could have just as easily been some insane asshat who wanted to be famous for killing people.

According to Bostons FBI department and local PD, it's already been deemed a "terrorist activity" giving them jurisdiction to do things normally they couldn't so for all intents and purposes it was and is and always will be.. a terrorist attack.

Which is why this seems likely to be terrorism. Its too well planned out and executed. A random crazy would probably go on a shooting spree like we've seen so many times before, and/or be there after the explosions to kill some more.

Once again, its possible this had no further motive or ideological backing, but the type of incident would seem to point more to a terrorist event.
