I definitely didn’t realize how old Mike was. In interviews he looks old, but in that ring he looked really old and fragile

Training videos are deceptive because it's a guy standing there, not moving.

Never saw any video of Tyson chasing pads and working a ring. Just the same videos of him unloading from a standstill with camera tricks.

I thought he had more than 1 right hand in him too, whether this was a work or not-- we all expected at least a few right hands. I only counted 1 trademark right in round 1. If you told me Tyson threw 2 right hands I would have to disagree. That's how inactive he was. If someone here somehow counted 3 right hands, I'd tell you fuck off.

First off, I have seen 85 year old men spar better than that. Tyson looked like absolute shit. No one training for as long as he has been should gas in the 2nd round, much less a former world champ. And I am not talking a little, his feet totally stopped moving. I have seen him look better in his own videos. No one is going to convince me this wasn't a work, particularly after the slap. EVEN the slap looks like a work; he slapped him with a loose wrist. And Jake Paul dribbled from a distance from what I saw, jabbing and doing no damage. It wasn't a fight; as someone else said on Twitter/X; it was a fleecing.

They got a lot of eyeballs but there was no real event; it was an exhibition in name only, no competition, which I guess is what is on the label but no what anyone expected or wanted. They wanted to see a fight and instead saw what we used to call in football "brother in law-ing"; Everyone will say Tyson is old and Jake was respectful as they walk away with bags of cash. Tyson wasn't ever going to fight again anyway and no one will hold it against Jake Paul that he didn't go in for the kill again Tyson. The Perfect (potential) Scam.

How could any of you not see this was fake from the jump? Tyson hadn't had a real fight after prison. He looked like shit 20 years ago. Paul has never had a real fight. Is he even a sanctioned boxer?

While Tommy Fury is not ranked, he qualifies as a professional boxer and the fight was sanctioned.

Tyson said in the after interview that he didn't want to use health as an excuse, but the training videos from him just a few weeks ago had him moving 10x better than that on those legs without a knee brace.

It looked like Paul wasn't really wanting to go after him either, and seemed like he was really trying to stay out of Mike's range.

Just glad to be able to see Tyson enter the ring in a sanctioned bout for what is probably the last time. Wish my dad could have seen it...

I'm certainly glad he went the full 8, and didn't get knocked down; however, I certainly wish it would have been better, but as it was apparent, father of time can be a real bitch.

Was funny when Tyson called out Logan and Logan couldn't even take it serious for money sake.

Yeah Mike, your performance was that bad.

This fight was a lot like the election. Beforehand I really thought Tyson was going to get the win one way or another, but after the fight it's like super obvious in retrospect who was gonna win.

Whole thing leading up to it was basically a real-world version of Rocky 6's storyline, so that's pretty cool.

man wtf, Netflix wants to get more into live streams and this is how they step up to the plate?

Yeah it was pretty awful. I had people over and we had the show open on four different screens because it kept lagging out / crashing / dropping to like 240p. If a couple of them crashed there'd always be at least one that still worked right (usually the one on an illegal stream site rather than Netflix). We entirely missed Round 6 of the main event (all of the streams crashed) and ended up watching the last two rounds on a single phone screen with everybody hovering around it.

Just a total debacle for Netflix with what should have been a resounding success (the most-watched boxing event of all time) otherwise. Complete catastrophe.

I went to this fight, and didn't pay a dime. Tried to weasel my way out of this, but couldn't avoid an obligation.

I can't believe how many of you fucking goobers thought this was going to be anything. Tyson is 58 fucking years old, and very recently has been pushed around in a wheelchair due to his arthritis. It was absolutely insane to see the delusions this pulled out of people. People just desperately clinging on to some vestige from their past.

Jake could've knocked him out in the 1st round and instead he carried him out of respect. The best part was the walk-in and the huge roaring ovation he received in the building.

Forgive the stupid location tag.

This is taking so long to get to the main event. Just a waste of time.

Ya I'm not sure why they had to kill so much time. The main event got started like an hour after the (very good) women's match ended. Were they waiting for one of the guys to come down from a shroom high or something? Maybe Netflix needed time to work on their technical difficulties? It was absurd how much time they killed before the main event.

What's this meme from? Is there a Family Guy episode where Lois has a drug problem?

I thought the rounds seemed short but they were 2 min rounds, not 3 min rounds. If Tyson couldn't even move around for 8 2 min rounds, I don't care how 58 he is, he shouldn't have never taken the fight. And he was flat-footed after the first.

People on Twitter/X are like "He's just old, that's what an old man looks like!" No it's not. I had a linebacker coach that would run us down at 55 who had played in the NFL. He wasn't taking RB's head-on in the A gap because that would have been unfair to most of the RB's. He wasn't going to play a 10-12 game season but for a single quarter, I wouldn't have wanted to line up against him. You telling me Tyson can't go more than a single 2 min round at full speed after knowing about the fight for 2 years, training hard for a year? A single, 2 min round. He even got another 4 months to train after having trouble with an ulcer.

Either he's A) he's got something that's preventing him from training and has been faking a ton of videos for hype: B) it's a work. I am not talking about being out-competed by a 20-something boxer. I mean, that's acceptable. As plenty of folks have said, Father Time is undefeated. I mean, move your fucking feet. It's not like Jake Paul beat his legs out of him. As presented this evening, this event seems staged and not real competition; there was an gentlemen's agreement going it and Mike threw the fight/Jake carried him. One very nice lady arguing with me on Twitter/X right now "There are rules against fixing fights!" Bless your heart, Southern Mama, but this is THE Sport for fixing the outcome. And you would have to have proof AND the will to prosecute AND its an exhibition match, etc etc etc. Even if its wasn't definitively fixed, all you need is two guys talking between camps saying "My guy won't do x if your guy does y", "Well, my guy is going to do z, so your guy does A" and in two or three exchanges its done. They don't script wrestling matches and they work them out to a fixed end on a story line every night.

Everyone knows their own thing but is completely credulous about everything else it seems. Think about how much we have learned about in the last 8 years is fake and
