Tyson said in the after interview that he didn't want to use health as an excuse, but the training videos from him just a few weeks ago had him moving 10x better than that on those legs without a knee brace.
It looked like Paul wasn't really wanting to go after him either, and seemed like he was really trying to stay out of Mike's range.
Just glad to be able to see Tyson enter the ring in a sanctioned bout for what is probably the last time. Wish my dad could have seen it...
I'm certainly glad he went the full 8, and didn't get knocked down; however, I certainly wish it would have been better, but as it was apparent, father of time can be a real bitch.
I thought the rounds seemed short but they were 2 min rounds, not 3 min rounds. If Tyson couldn't even move around for 8 2 min rounds, I don't care how 58 he is, he shouldn't have never taken the fight. And he was flat-footed after the first.
People on Twitter/X are like "He's just old, that's what an old man looks like!" No it's not. I had a linebacker coach that would run us down at 55 who had played in the NFL. He wasn't taking RB's head-on in the A gap because that would have been unfair to most of the RB's. He wasn't going to play a 10-12 game season but for a single quarter, I wouldn't have wanted to line up against him. You telling me Tyson can't go more than a single 2 min round at full speed after knowing about the fight for 2 years, training hard for a year? A single, 2 min round. He even got another 4 months to train after having trouble with an ulcer.
Either he's A) he's got something that's preventing him from training and has been faking a ton of videos for hype: B) it's a work. I am not talking about being out-competed by a 20-something boxer. I mean, that's acceptable. As plenty of folks have said, Father Time is undefeated. I mean, move your fucking feet. It's not like Jake Paul beat his legs out of him. As presented this evening, this event seems staged and not real competition; there was an gentlemen's agreement going it and Mike threw the fight/Jake carried him. One very nice lady arguing with me on Twitter/X right now "There are rules against fixing fights!" Bless your heart, Southern Mama, but this is THE Sport for fixing the outcome. And you would have to have proof AND the will to prosecute AND its an exhibition match, etc etc etc. Even if its wasn't definitively fixed, all you need is two guys talking between camps saying "My guy won't do x if your guy does y", "Well, my guy is going to do z, so your guy does A" and in two or three exchanges its done. They don't script wrestling matches and they work them out to a fixed end on a story line every night.
Everyone knows their own thing but is completely credulous about everything else it seems. Think about how much we have learned about in the last 8 years is fake and
