Yeah I did a bit of a double take after reading that. My thoughts were along the lines of, "Wow, nice sphere"! And then: "Except it fucking sucks."

Suddenly Ultors taunt seems a massive liability.

Nice that they fixed (most) of the timings on global exclusives, but both Tridon and Ultors profiles are still in flux.

Ultor has the potential to be outrageously high DPS, but only IF he can survive his own dumbass taunt.

Tridon got his leadership hps nerfed down by 10%.

Getting sick of the goddamned roller coaster.

...and still can't get logged in. Haven't been in for the daily log-in yet today. I'm going to be pissed if I lose the streak to this dumbass shit.

Lol, yeah. He's pretty funny from a roleplaying perspective. Hardest hitting motherfucker alive, pulls his pants down and moons the hell out of any survivors, whereupon he's blasted into oblivion.

Regardless, I'm gonna try him. The HP thing is utter bullshit, especially in light of the more general cloud of bullshit that's enveloped the game these past few days, but I do wanna see what he can do.

Keep trying to get in, Leto. I got in and got my login, then got booted. Good enough for me. Still pretty pissed and wasn't planning to really do anything. They're probably offering 20k worth of achievement point dailies as compensation knowing them. We'll be on in time to see them expire.

edit: just noticed the Tridon thing. Wtf - why? It's not like it's too powerful, given the two outrageous units that just released.

Overall this is simply shit design, primarily for the reasons outlined by Ishad's posts, but also because 3 of the 4 most talked about units simultaneously released - Ultor, Deimos, Tridon, with Zenia not applying here - can't be used in the same squad. Tridon's shield I read on Reddit fucks up taunt and leaves the taunter open to getting one-shot, and Ultor and Deimos are both taunters that shouldn't be used simultaneously.

Catch is, I am playing the Log In game on hard mode right now.

I am the idiot who woke up this morning optimistically thinking this was going to be a normal patch day - and, hey, what a great opportunity to start out with a clean install of the newest version of the game....

So I still have that initial large download from inside the game for fresh installs....I get 2% into it and get connection errors. Exactly 2% every time for hours now.

I am not hopeful about getting through that download to actually get in the game - I'm not going to stop trying, but no joke, this is getting stupid.

...and I'd be in a more forgiving mood if not for the last several days of steaming piles of horseshit scattered in between the sort of ups and downs that no gamer ever appreciates.

Their incompetence is outweighing even their deceptive business practices, and that is quite the feat to pull off.

I am no longer amused.

It's pretty disconcerting to consider our (meaning you and me) reactions here considering how much we ended up profiting from it. Sure, we blew 30 and 50 gems - and sure, the unit I got shoulda just been Ultor - but it really does underscore the level of gross malfeasance committed here when the proprietors of weapon-grade Anima OPness feel ripped the fuck off. And I sure do feel ripped the fuck off.

The people who wanted to participate in Frontier Hunter? Fucked.
The people who needed their daily log in, particularly for the free gem from the 3 day event cycle? Fucked.
The people who summoned for Ultor just before Deimos surprise release? Brutally Fucked.
The people who gave a damn about Tridon/Ultor, and saw three different sets of data mined profiles from Gumi's own data in barely a day and a half? Jerked around and Fucked.
The people who needed this one day out of the week to farm Miracle Totems for the new evolutions of units that have been teased to high heaven? Double Fucked. For a week.

I'm trying to be nice about it. I don't mean to make it suddenly negative around here.

If Gumi doesn't understand that they need to do more that just drop some trinkets in the gift box to make it right then they are well on their way to losing people over the fiasco that is the last few days. I described *yesterday* as "Brave Frontier Purgatory"...I don't even have a word for what today was.

Vent away. We're in agreement on all accounts except for the enormity of one of them. I can handle server issues, bullshit FH rollouts and the like. Those are entirely subordinate in magnitude to the manner in which they rolled out these absurd units. A week ago Gumi was trumpeting "ULTOR IS COMING! ARE YOU READY?!?!?!?" and notably failed to buttress the excitement they were currying with any real information.

Fast-forward a few days and they introduce the worst goddamn rateup I've ever seen - Reddit claims 3% chance per summon - that virtually requires a 10 gem investment to get one of them and virtually requires that investment if you want what you think Ultor should be. So you either err on the side of caution, perhaps assuming that Ultor will bring something worthwhile to the table, or you realize that you're being directed to blow your load - again! - to get the unit you thought you were getting before and that you possibly blew your load on a week before. So you either hold out, knowing you're fucked, or you blow your load, knowing you're fucked. That's why I wanted Zenia. Possibly not as meta, but it'd have left a more pleasant aftertaste.

I seriously don't understand why the subreddit hasn't exploded over this.

The mods on the subreddit have been deleting threads from disgruntled players at light speed, and channelling them all to the "Global servers are unstable!" thread. Folks in that thread have been getting more and more frustrated as the night gets late...but it is all neatly contained.

I've lost count of the number of threads I've seen vanish over there tonight.

Are any of the pissed about what I think is the main issue here or is it primarily server gripes?

Moving on to acceptance with Ultor. He's a fine arena sub because angel idol is pretty op in arena. He's good for ohko content. Going to try him as a sub unit on raids. Don't think he'll get any use in trials.

Kind of stuck twiddling my thumbs until melchio'a release as atk-> def buffer should be a big boost for him.

Right now mostly folks just want to log in once before they go to sleep.

Not nearly enough grumbling about the way Gumi handled Ultor's release....some, but usually gets lost in Ultor/Deimos threads.

I agree with you though.

Tomorrow will be interesting if this is still going on, Guaranteed.

The "Frontier Hunter is up." thread has language colorful enough to make even me proud.

By the way frontier hunter and frontier gate use the same orbs.

I honestly don't have the impression that there is anyone at Gumi actually working on anything right now. Seriously.

I'm tired and this isn't worth being exhausted and miserable over on the off chance that the have a team working on getting the servers healthy before 4am local time when the day resets.

If the servers are not drastically improved by the time I wake up, watching this train wreck burst in to flames might be the most fun thing going.

Well, I see I wasn't wrong to just call it a night. (...and I still say they called it a night well before we did. No fucking way they were still working on that last night....the radio silence was getting deafening.)

Still no dice on getting logged in this morning.

There is nothing left to do but sit back, get the popcorn, and watch this world burn. This is going to be glorious.

Two things:

1) Watching this world burn is far more boring than I had anticipated. ...even the popcorn seems stale.

2) To add to the long list of things that mystify me atm......I don't understand how they could be working on fixing the servers without the servers actually being completely offline.

The servers are just in a vague state of "Kinda up, sometimes, but not really..." with an air of "if you just keep trying, show true grit and determination (and move your device to get better wifi reception!), you'll get in and enjoy THE NEW UPDATES (We promise! Best patch evar!)"

Just take the bloody servers down and let us know when it is fixed.

They should have done that yesterday. ...BeforeFrontier Hunter started.
