Are we going to have to make a no pussy shit Breaking Bad thread now? Should I stop reading this thread? No way I'm clicking that link.
Hahah yeah, it's 100% a joke. He tells you that hank rides up on a magic talking skateboard named Wheelie, and after beating water and making out with chicks, he has to go fight a drug kingpin on the moon. It's 100% a joke, very funny.

Duh, dude set three fires.

Though from that angle it seems like Heisenberg is gonna have to rise again and start cleaning up the trail left by Todd/Nazis.

i was explaining BB to the wife and trying to get her to watch season1 while we go on vacation next week, and i thought did anyone bring this up? Walt is proud and ego manical about his formula, but all this time he's just been revising jessie's formula since jessie taught him how to cook? Well i guess until the methlamine, and the blue meth comes in, we can say that's totally heisenberg?

It wasn't "Jesse's formula." Jesse taught Walt the basics of what he knew on how to make meth. Walt perfected that with his chemistry expertise.

They're a little ambiguous about it, but Walt either created an entirely new formula or he re-used an old formula. When the DEA started seeing the blue meth they mentioned how they haven't seen that kind of cook in a while.

This kind of talk makes me wish they kept the chemistry in the show. I would've loved to see a 10 minute scene where Walt goes over the chemical equations needed to cook meth.

Same ingredients if that's what you mean. It's meth though, so everyone uses the same ingredients. What Walt does its use his chemistry genius to bring the purity to 99.1% from 60%.

Jesse's meth wasn't all that great and was probably the same thing everyone else makes except for the chili flavor he threw in.

Also, a 10 minute meth cooking lesson is probably a bad thing to have on TV. I doubt the network would allow it

Yeah, originally Walt just used Jesse for his "smurfs" to get pseudoephedrine. He didn't use any formula from Jesse, he just needed his resources to get the precursors. And Walt's first batch of Psuedo Meth produced the largest crystals Jesse had ever seen (Jesse said he was an artist and what not and Walt told him, no derpstien, it's just chemistry). It was after Jesse got his kicked by Tuco that Walt wanted to increase production, and so he started the Methlyamine cook--which is the barrel they stole in the first season and how the first batch of blue meth came about.

But yeah, he never used Jesse's formula. In fact, he pretty much called Jesse's whole process garbage.

Jesse's role was distribution, as well as showing Walt the very very basic understanding of these ingredients made meth. Prior to that, Walt didn't know how to actually make it as far as what ingredients were involved and the order to combine them.

Once Jessy showed Walt the basics of add a pinch of this and a sprinkle of this, pre-heat the over to 350 and let it cook for 15 minutes blah blah, THEN Walt took his superior knowledge of chemistry and refined the procedure until he made the 99% excellence.

The blue from came later on when they started using methylamine instead of Tylenol PM because it was difficult to get the pharmacy shit.

Yeah, his meth was already super potent before the methalymine. They were just too limited in the amount of pseudoephedrine they were able to get since they keep records of everyone that buys it.

Either way I wish that at least 5-10 minutes per episode was dedicated to some chemistry.
