Rather than taking a thing which you think must be true and looking for ways to support it, take a thing which you suspect is true and look for ways to determine whether it is or not.

It's a subtle thing but an important thing. And when you take the second approach you'll find the results to be more valuable. Sometimes the observation even is accurate (though rarely in the fashion that you first suspect) and leads to practical solutions to the problem which instigated the research in the first place.

Women also take tons of jobs in food service. Where does that fall into your theory? Pretty sure that's just as physically tiresome as construction, for far less pay and far more degrading.

Or, for a less misogynistic answer, it's because women are pretty much completely unable to compete with men for these jobs in the private sector. You know, because of basic biology. Government blue collar jobs, where "equality" can be mandated similarly to how affirmative action works, are the only ones they can actually get.

Government blue collar jobs also have to give you decent health care and maternity leave, where private sector blue collar jobs do not.

There's TONS of statements in this thread that are provably false. I can only attack so many because there's only 1 of me. Yet everything I say is attacked from every angle.

Yes, you were right, inheritance was a bad choice of words and I was using it as a catch-all for inter-generational benefits. However, my original point, where the quote originally came from was in defense of the 70% of blacks that are not locked in the cycle of dependence like the other 30% are, and it wasn't anything about attacking white wealth. It was just explaining why even blacks that have good incomes seem poorer than whites.
