Little over a year and hit 36k miles on my 13 accord. Essentially that is the end of my lease, although I have it for 2 more years. Haven't had a single issue yet. I think it's still being broken in at this point. Best car I've ever owned.
Fuck, man. Why are you putting so many miles on a lease?!

I've had my 2010 Z since April 2010 and have just under 30,000 miles. I've been fortunate in working relatively close to my house. As for quality, 0 issues so far. Been out of warranty for almost a year now, so I hope it continues to stay that way!

Seventh,
What is the power like on that car? My wife is a Subaru lifer and 6 months ago we went to get a new car. I really liked the look of your car but you could only get a tiny under powered 4 cylinder in it at the time so she went with the forester.

err how does one put 36k miles in one year... on a leased vehicle?
He'll just have to buy the lease out at the end to avoid the mileage surcharges. But putting that many miles on any new car is stupid. Might as well light money on fire. Buy a beater!

Although I'd argue an Accord of any vintage is a beater...so maybe he's doing it right. But if you have to drive that much, why'd you lease?

It's a 140-something horsepower CVT, so it's slow as balls. That said, it's a little quicker than most CVTs I've driven (Altimas, etc), and I don't clench my ass cheeks together when merging on the highway the way you would in a Prius or something. It'll never be confused with something fast, but it's not too bad. I don't drive fast, I just commute to work, take my MTB to the woods and play golf. I'm getting old, so this checked all of the practical boxes.

I have this theory. Butch lesbians are like the gatekeepers of the awesome lesbians you see in porno. First you buy a Subaru, then you run the buzzcut/rainbow-tattoo gauntlet for a year. Then once you pass the butch lesbian hazing, they unlock the door to a secret world full of hot lesbians.

At least, I hope that's the case. I'm sticking to it either way.

They hold their value like crazy. I sold my 200,000 mile ultra-redneck Taco last week for almost 7 grand. Awesome trucks, fo'sho.
I was going to actually buy a used Toyota Certified (learned my lesson buying non certified from a dealership with the Rav4), but they were only a few grand less than buying a brand new one. Even looking around in the classifieds it became pretty apparent that I would be getting my moneys worth by purchasing a new one.

I love the tacoma, wish they were not so expensive.
Their insane resale value sort of offsets the initial price.

I love them too. But I'd really like the Tacomas to offer a 4 cylinder 4x4 that gets 30MPG. I don't care about towing. I just want to be able to move landscaping materials and the occasional appliance without having to spend $200+ a month in gas.

This is a one-off, purpose built vehicle designed to travel the severe winter weather of Antarctica and set a land speed record to the South Pole. In 2011, Jason De Carteret, a renowned adventurist, using "Polar" broke two Guinness records crossing the Antarctic ice cap from Patriot Hills to the South Pole and back: 39 hours and 54 minutes, at an average speed of 27.9mph! This project was underwritten by both Thomson Reuters and the Discovery Channel. The link below to the Discovery Channel will tell you the complete story:

Polar began life as a 2010 Toyota Tacoma purchased at Sparks Toyota in South Carolina. As the truck was intended to be both the ultimate off-road vehicle and one that could easily run around town, every aspect was designed and engineered for ultimate reliability, as there were no support vehicles to assist during the record setting run. Ian Nisbett in London led the design team:

While Kieron Bradley of Lotus Engineering led the technical team:

About Lotus Engineering | Lotus Cars

The powerplant is a standard 4L V6, gasoline engine which was then supercharged by TRD (Toyota Racing Development). The engine now produces 341 bhp. The transmission was specially calibrated to allow for the extra hp and torque, as well as the high, low and standard gears added. The suspension and undercarriage are simply incredible to behold: built by Marconi, a world-renowned specialist, it features custom prop shafts and separate locking front and rear air differentials.

The body is all steel, ranging from 9-12mm (military strength) thickness. Each panel is custom fabricated and hand-welded.

The dashboard, doors, windows are standard Toyota Tacoma. Polar has four racing seats (the rears capable of accepting child seats) and harnesses. The cabin is fully insulated, lined with steel for extreme protection, and has a full rollcage. It is fitted with 4 HD camera's, 3 inside the cab and one outside and two GPS devices - one is a large mapping unit which functions as a secondary speedometer, the other unit is a normal Satnav that links via Bluetooth to the engine management system. The navigation menus still contain the routing through Iceland (testing ground) and for the South Pole run!

Polar runs on any type of unleaded gasoline, held in a series of seven separate internal tanks with a total capacity of ~330 gallons. Its range is more than 6,000 miles! It can even be fuelled directly from a barrel.
Its power system consists of two heavy amperage standard batteries, with a parallel solar panel (roof mounted) system, that is engaged from the cockpit. There is also a Webasto engine heater.

Polar's custom made three piece wheels are shod with 44" Dick Cepek tires. Air compression is provided onboard from either the front or rear grilles and integrated hoses.
A 9 ton winch plugs into either grille in seconds.

Polar is additionally fitted and sold with:

Custom crevasse bar, removable for city driving
Custom roof rack
OEM wheels and tires
Extensive spares package

The most unique and successful concept truck ever built, Polar cost more than $400,000 to create. World famous, sure to draw attention anywhere you drive it, it is truly one of a kind.

Polar is titled and road registered (plated) in Michigan, and is available for sale and export anywhere in the world. Extensive additional documentation, including all technical specs and design drawings, are available upon request. Both Guinness World Record certificates are included with the sale.

Never understood why people want to own a hitlermobile.
Never understood why it's just VW that is Hitlermobile to you people, yet BMW, Porsche, Audi and Mercedes, the companies that actually built engines for tanks and fighters, are fine. Is it the socialist aspect of a cheap car that even the working class could have afforded that offends you?

and on topic, are Peugeot in the US a thing? Didn't see the name come up even once.

Most people don't really give a fuck about that, don't extrapolate one dude's lame joke to everyone. There's tons of people driving VW's and I never hear of anyone referencing Hitler in regard to them.

No, Peugeot is essentially non-existent in the U.S.

Like I said, I leased my car and then later was offered a job with a rough commute. I plan on buying the car in the end, so I don't care anymore. It is what it is. I had an older beater accord for awhile, it sadly died

I don't care if Porsche built the actual ovens that cooked the Jews. I would still want one.

Whats funnier is the Japanese cars are never brought up in that context; and its the Japanese that actually attacked us and where most of the American fighting was.

Because the Nissan is still half of what a new Cayman S costs, let alone a 911!
