Personally, I don't think they'll kill him off. I don't think the general public has the tolerance to see these characters get killed off and then resurrected every year. If they kill anyone off, my money is on Robert Downey's character.
I don't see the point personally, I thought the death in AoU was pointless and made me glad it was Joss Whedon's last job with them. They really only use death in comics for publicity and if it's a long term character that might have gone a bit stale.

They never stay dead long anyway.

The funny thing is MCU Quicksilver had a perfectly reasonable power level, there really was no reason to kill him off. XMen Quicksilver is a god on earth and I'm sure they're going to have to divert him with something to explain why he doesn't single handedly save the day.

Give Lyrical a break, it was everywhere. Fucks sake Stephen Colbert eulogized him and received the shield on his show.

If he dies here we won't get to see Thanos break his shield.
This. I imagine that's when he will die if at all.

So as I understand it, in the comics Spiderman reveals himself to the world that he's Peter Parker. However, I'm super doubtful that they will go this route in the movie, because then in future MCU and Sony Spiderman movies, they would have to work around that point that everyone knows Peter is Spiderman. And if Peter doesn't really reveal himself, I wonder if he'll stay on team Ironman the whole movie. My guess is he switches sides.

Hah. That's awesome.

They could still break Cap's shield if Falcon is Cap or something.

Thanos could also play a part in resurrecting someone too if they needed that and wanted people to freak out over it for 2 years.

I feel like Black Widow is in a good spot to play the Spider-Man side-switching role.

Spider Man has the proportional strength of a spider, so like 12x times a human. Cap is supposed to be the peak of human perfection so Spidey is much stronger. Vision is really strong as well but i'm not 100% sure on him.

Spiderman is the most compassionate of all the superheroes though so I doubt he ever uses his full strength on a punch.
There was/is a run where Doc Oct was in the body of Spiderman and one of the first things he realizes is how Spiderman had been holding back during his fighting this whole time. So pretty much never.

Apoc grabbing him and snapping his neck would make a nice intro to him. It's being directed by the guy that rapes twinks or whatever though so it will probably be dumb

That came up in the Invincible - Spiderman team up comic, where Spiderman is berating Invincible for hitting Doc Oc at full strength more or less saying that Spiderman doesn't.

Trailers haven't played up the public relations aspect of the Civil War so far. Might not really come in to play. Even if it does, this is OG Spidey. He's a minor. Comic Peter was in a position to think he'd be protected, by himself and Tony's SHIELD, as would his loved ones. Movie Peter will be a kid in no position to make that kind of decision for the people around him.

Secret Identity hasn't even been a thing since IM1 in the movies. It would be out of left field for that to be a major issue all of a sudden again.

lol, yep, This is a common theme whenever a villain takes over a super hero. One of the best episodes of Justice League is when Lex takes over Flash and is like--lol, Flash is probably the strongest member of this stupid team, and proceeds to use his powers to destroy everyone (In far more sadistic ways than flash ever would). Super heroes always hold back, and even if they ever do use their full strength, they never use it in the most effective and lethal way.

Spider man is ridiculously strong as a character, his pre-cog combined with his agility, on top of his super strength makes him, well, ridiculous. Plus they've made it a point in a lot of recent lore to discuss how he's also got some durability due to his powers (To explain his strength).

Edit:

The funny thing is MCU Quicksilver had a perfectly reasonable power level, there really was no reason to kill him off. XMen Quicksilver is a god on earth and I'm sure they're going to have to divert him with something to explain why he doesn't single handedly save the day.
Yeah, any speedster that moves fast enough for those kinds of effects is by far the most powerful superhero out there. Even against telepaths, because most speed super heroes can also 'think' at faster rates. It's a ridiculous power, it's why Flash can be a frustrating show for me to watch--one minute he explores a whole crime scene in the time it takes for someone to blink, which clearly shows everyone around him reacts as if they were in super super slow motion...but in the next his tripping over someone who put his arm up---like dude, shouldn't you have been able to walk around that obstacle, laugh, go take a shit, eat a hearty meal, come back and then punch the dude before he could even fully raise the arm?

There is a part in the trailer that gives a major turning point away. Just look on the ground behind Cap while he fights Iron Man.

Well the battle where they're wailing on Iron Man as a tag team seems to be where that spoiler occurs. His arm is definitely ripped off in the aftermath though.

I don't think that is a 'huge' deal.. if we saw him without a head it would be. but losing a robotic arm is like iron man losing a suit.
