And yet they demonstrated other times where he kept his mass while shrinking. Like him falling through the the tile and drywall in the ceiling. Didn't Pym outright say his mass stayed the same? If not, it's pretty heavily implied by just saying he shrunk the space between particles. And let's not get into physics problems there with strong and weak nuclear forces.

If he does NOT keep his mass as he shrinks, conservation of momentum dictates that he should have turned into a speeding bullet.

I'm fine with movies not obeying established laws of physics. But they should at least try to adhere to their own magical ones.

Let's say he does hold on. Average compound bow tops out at about 200N.
FYI, that's not a compound bow. there would be another string between the tips of the bow if it was.

That being said, compound bows are no faster or more powerful than traditional recurves or longbows, they're just easier to use. So other than the assumption that hawkeye would have an average bow your math point stands.

Well, antman can fly can't he? Or did he just jump really far? Maybe they're playing games with the difference between mass and weight because the suit can nullify gravity or something.

He'd want to be on the point because that's where it impacts the target and then he can hop off and climb on or punch or whatever the fuck. If he was on the shaft Hawkeye would have to shoot near his target and Ant-Man would have to time his jump as he whizzed passed his target at a high rate of speed.

None of you took advanced tactical archery in school? FUCK.

It's obvious he's on the head because Hawkeye is going to shoot him into someone's body then Ant Man rips him apart from inside.

Well this post makes no sense.

Pretty funny thinking about Ant-Man keeping his mass considering one of the scenes he's standing on Mexican guy's shoulder and he doesn't know he's there until he says something

he's riding on the head of the arrow because that's the part that's IN FRONT of the bow. if he was riding on the shaft he'd get all tangled up as he passes the bow.

also. now that i think about it, arrows spin as they fly...

The fuck arrows have you shot?

However, you are technically correct in this case as the additional drag and mass of ant-man on the arrow tip would take it out of balance and likely cause it to spin and rotate erratically. I doubt even Hawkeye could keep it flying straight.

uh. i've shot the kind of arrows that spin when you loose them... also, i read about it on the internet and i watched a 4 minute video on youtube so i think i know what i'm talking about, okay?

lol, dunno I've only ever used arrows that fly exactly as you loose them unless damaged. If they spin because of the vanes I believe they will be unbalanced and rotate pretty wild. I think you can do it with grinding broadheads a certain way though.

the problem is the point. He is sitting on a razer blade.

the arrow should be a blunt head.

An adorable little basket for him to ride in, would also work.

Err, that arrow looks more like some sort of explosive payload to me, rather than a "razor blade."

I apologize for totally derailing this thread with that Hawkeye hot toy picture.
