And yet they demonstrated other times where he kept his mass while shrinking. Like him falling through the the tile and drywall in the ceiling. Didn't Pym outright say his mass stayed the same? If not, it's pretty heavily implied by just saying he shrunk the space between particles. And let's not get into physics problems there with strong and weak nuclear forces.
If he does NOT keep his mass as he shrinks, conservation of momentum dictates that he should have turned into a speeding bullet.
I'm fine with movies not obeying established laws of physics. But they should at least try to adhere to their own magical ones.
