I'm 5/7N 5/7H from pugging. Just hit 650 ilvl which is another "breakpoint" for the raid finder and joining well-geared teams. Hoping I can get a koragh/imp kill in next week after xmas. Also, kudos to whomever here first mentioned how dumb the Fatboss strategy is for Tectus. I wiped on H Tectus a few times last night and actually convinced the pug to try rotating the bosses around the perimeter while range/heals stack in center -- got the kill 1 wipe later and everyone commented on how much easier that felt.

Also, I added a Saturday morning raid this week. Please sign up if you think you can make it, not a hard commitment but want to gauge interest.
Why would they add some extra delay in for one boss? Are they rewriting his script by hand and only started when the last LFR wing was opened?

They probably wanted to give the majority of raiders time to complete him - or a lot of people at Blizzard will be on vacation and don't want to deal with it!

One of the mythic raiders in this thread mentioned that Fatboss "did it wrong" and said its far easier to move the boss pack around the perimiter. We set an "anchor" in our ranged group and had the ranged/heals just stack on the anchor. For Earthern Pillar, the anchor simply has to take a step backwards (then to the right, then forward) to neatly and cleanly put all pillars in the center of the room. If he has LOS issues, he just needs to say so and its easy as fuck for the tanks to rotate quickly around the outside so they're back in range. LOS issues on that fight (and DPS being retarded with Crystalline Barrage) are the biggest issues; keeping boss on outside of the room handles both. Dps can easily peel out in reverse of the boss pack against the wall.

I think our strategy on Tectus worked out fine. As with most fights it depends how derpy your dps is. I find more often than not we fail because of DPS.
