I'll be worried about losing Texas' spotlight when A&M fields a good team over 3-5 years at least. They've had some decent seasons in the past too, as have Mizzou, Kansas, etc - I want to see them keep it up.

Not to mention the huge boost Texas will receive with a new coach in a year or so.

As a Texas A&M grad I've generally stayed away from boasting since I know our history. Look facts are facts and history doesn't lie. We have not and are not the big dog in Texas. Yes the tale of the tape says TU trounces A&M in overall sports. But to be honest, who gives a shit about the past? The university and the alums are looking towards the future. So please go on about past recruiting classes and the national championships. No sane Aggie would argue or even deny TU has unparalleled success in the state of Texas. But to blindly say that it's all smoke and mirrors and that A&M will never "catch up" is just your pride talking. You're absolutely right that A&M wanted to get out of TU's shadows by going to the SEC. But sometimes you can't be afraid of legging go of the past and risking "tradition" by forging ahead to the future. If anything, it's the small (albeit vocal) population of TU fans that can't let go.

I don't think anyone said never, it's just way too early for that conversation. The simple fact that it's in College Station means it'll always be playing from behind though. God what a terrible place to live

Four and a half years of my life, man. There is a reason why every weekend we drove to Houston or to Austin or to Dallas or to San Antonio...you get the drift. Midnight yell practice was alright since you would go home with a girl at least half the time unless you were a hideous chode, but god damn I couldn't go to the bars there more than once a semester. Most of the time you ended up crashed at some place wondering why the fuck is Billy Ray playing at 3am. Good times in Aggieland!

I'm not on the Johnny Manziel is the next coming of christ train, but hearing him say that he might've been willing to play DB (what UT recruited him as) had they just offered the scholarship is really infuriating.

UT is always the big dog in Texas, always has been.

Any Aggie will admit the rivalry with Texas is much bigger for the Aggies than it is for the Tsips. Texas looks at Sooners as their real rival. Not to mention you have baby brother Red Raider jumping up and down at Aggies and Horns saying "hey look at me!".

Anywho, Ham, down year for the Heisman? How so? I guess last year's Heisman was even worse, and the year Cam won was the lowest of the low? Just curious how you came to the conclusion that this was a down year for the Heisman. As far as my personal opinion, I am glad Manziel won, it is good for the school (for pub). I definitely felt that if Teo won though, he deserved it. Guy plays hard, is a good story, and plays for an undefeated ND team that would not be undefeated if not for Teo. Having said that, calling the Heisman anything other than an offensive player of the year award is a joke. They need to have it split into two awards, one defensive, and one offensive. It will never happen, but a defensive player winning the trophy will be rare as fuck too.

Cam put up the numbers he put up and went undefeated. Ingram (while he shouldn't have won) was on a title contender, Vince Young had an incredible statistical and team season and still couldn't win one. Maybe it was an average year and the others I'm thinking of are just clear 'fuck that guy has this' years, but that's how I viewed it on the surface. Manziel wasn't even in the discussion until he beat Alabama and he ended up winning, in large part due to there not being another sexy offensive candidate for the voters

Dude I honestly don't give a fuck anymore. The last QB to win a title for us and my favorite player of that era just turned us down to stay with the guy who helped destroy the program. I am so fed up with this shit at this point. If I wasn't an alum I think I'd honestly give it up.
awww please care =( I need you to care.
