This lets you stream Twitch.tv on Chromecast!http://nitrousstudios.com/twitchcast/index.php

Its working like a charm right now, no lag, great quality. and its not shitty like streaming a "full tab".
I downloaded an app called Lakitu that is a Twitch.tv alternative with Chromecast support. It works really well, much better than the native Twitch app, but has downsides. You can't get your followed channel list and for the life of me I can't figure out how to actually link it to Chromecast. It doesn't have the cast icon anywhere that I can see and there is no option in the settings. Others are swearing by it, though. Maybe I'm just stupid.

There's a chromecast setting button, but it crashes every time I click it.
That happened to me every time before this morning's update. Even after the update, though, I can't find any way to actually cast the stream. Also, 6 seconds into viewing any stream my phone reboots. I'm on a Nexus5. I hope the developer works out the bugs. It is a cool app.

Daly, I figured out the casting for Lakitu. You can't stream to Google TV boxes or the like, only Chromecasts and it only shows the cast icon if the Chromecast is online. Not very intuitive, but works very well once you figure it out.

Ah, thanks liquid. I was testing it at work when we last discussed it and obviously my chromecast was at home. I will definitely test it out over the weekend.

I think all of the apps are like that. I noticed when I disconnected my chromecast that the icon disappeared on Netflix, same when I was on vacation.

Yea I believe you are correct. Checking my phone now has no cast buttons on any of those apps.

I really know nothing about Chromecast, but I have a question:

I have a Windows 8 (full version) tablet, on which I have Chrome installed. If I go to a typical TV-network website, such as nbc.com, and begin streaming a TV show in Chrome, would I be able to toss that to my TV using Chromecast? I think that's how it works, but I want to make sure.

Possibly, but I wouldn't count on it. Some websites work, some don't. It'll cast any static website just fine but as soon as you start trying to cast anything that contains video it's a crapshoot. It really just kinda depends on the site and what standard they use for their video. I'd say you have about a 50/50 chance that it'll work. I've had good luck with a some websites, and some just completely fail.

It's really not meant to do that though, so it's probably somewhat dumb luck that some websites do actually work to cast video. Google wants specific apps developed for the Chromecast if a site wants their content to be compatible with Chromecast.

Does Watch ESPN still only work if you have ESPN already via a cable/satellite subscription? I really wish WatchESPN and HBOGo were available as individual subscriptions.

I don't understand why there aren't more apps coming out for that thing. It's like the best selling piece of electronics on Amazon. I thought people would be jumping at that shit. I am off to write an angry letter to PornHub.com now.

Agreed. As far as I know this is the last comment made by twitch on the matter:

Jason M: Twitch Staff

"We are not actively working on a Chromecast app. You can stream to Chromecast from a laptop."

What a crop of shit.

The thing is, I don't even want an app. Can't they just add the little cast button to their website like YouTube?

Yeah Spotify isn't working on one either, I don't understand what the deal is, some kind of politics thing I am sure.

You get access with most internet providers, but without a cable subscription that includes espn you can only watch espn3 on the watch espn app. Can't buy access.
